If only my husband (Mark in this video) enjoyed painting the house like he enjoys painting Minis. 😑😂

If there is some Almond green left over from Sprout I'm happy for it to be used to paint your bedroom :)

Yes! lol! My wife would say something very similar with reference to house verses mini 😁

Great video... I've been painting cars for nearly 30yrs in a accident repair garage. I think you're doing a brilliant job. You could do with investing in a panel stand though then you don't have to work on the floor. I've done 2 minis over 10yrs years ago and loved every minute of it. I was just disappointed that the owner didn't go into as much depth as you guys. Also in your kitt video I would have recommended the upol raptor 2pk. Its tough and perfect for the underneath of a mini. Keep up the good work, I'm so jealous.

P.S Mark those Devilbiss DV1's are SAVAGE. well wear

Comparing them to the Devilbis GTI Pro-lite and with my limited spraying experience, they seem amazing to spray with.

@@markdraper7 yes, we have used the red gti pro's for ages in our shops, we had the dv1s down for demo and getting a couple of them in now

Such a shame about the bonnet and drivers door Mark, interestingly that the drivers side door is the first side to rust, I would have thought it would be the passenger side being closest to the side of the road edge?!

It was really annoying, but new door and bonnet came quickly so didn't delay things too much. I think the passenger door might be newer than the drivers door.

no solid working knowledge for wet vs dry sanding. I have experienced the sand paper getting all clogged up from the paint, but that also depends on the type of paint/material. Again, great work to Mark..

nice video and good update. I dry sand everything, only wet sand painted surfaces. Must ask the boss tomorrow at work is there a reason not to wet sand before paint, I hear where your coming from with keeping dust down and getting more out of the sand discs. I find it interesting also that you guys are lacquering over flat colours. Over here we use high gloss 2k for flat colours (non metallic colours) and for metallic we use base coat and clear coat. When ye are ordering paint is there a base type paint for the red? also when ye spray the base does it matt off or is it shiny? if it is shiny do ye wet on wet it or do you sand it back ? just curious, apologies for all the questions its just different way I haven't seen before.

Thanks. I'm actually learning a lot of what i'm doing from the The Gunman on youtube. I'm led to believe that it's to do with the primer used as 1k primer will hold moisture, again, i'm no expert. I can get a good finish by 600/800 dry sanding and then a grey scotch pad over, no visible scratches through the paint. Base and Lacquer is used much more here as it's how new cars are sprayed and repair work/blending is easier with this method. It's also better as if you make a mistake with the base, you can rectify it before you apply the clear coat. Yes, the base does matt off. When i sprayed KITT, the paint shop gave me the wrong paint so i sprayed it in black gloss, then applied the clear coat with the flake in it, wet on wet.

Ah yes I watch a lot of the gun man too. That's interesting to know I must look into it more. Cheers Mark 😎
