It was so nice to come home after a long day and spend time with the two of you. The Zoom knit along was terrific even thought I’m a crocheter. Seeing the diverse ways that folks are putting colors together is very interesting. Thank you again. I can’t wait to see how the new green turns out. ❤

I have "years" of experience at this chore. Every bale of commercial comb top (that ends up as making tracks) I am called down to the mill to snap open the wires. I don't think anyone else at the mill has done it. At first, Peg asked me to bring the farm's wire cutter - after a few times I went to Home Depot and bought a wire cutter for the mill.

Great podcast , brightens my day. Have been cleaning sheep fibers since 1970. There is not anything that has not slipped through my fingers or splattered on my face. I would be the person who stepped forward to do sink gunk., I’m weird. Would love to see your thoughts on colors to mix for a yarn. It looks like you dye all in one pot? I’m going to go look at your website for virtual adventures. After 40 of dairy farming, the livestock and tractors are all gone, but I have to oil and take care of the old farmer.😵💫😵💫

Our Making Tracks line is dyed in pots with multiple colors (and multiple pots for each colorway) and our Farm Fresh is dyed in our scouring sinks. It is such fun creating color combos and seeing what works together!

@junctionfibermill Please let Peggy know I think the collar looks great on her styled the way she has with a turtleneck. A collared blouse would also look nice too on a warmer day. I’m stuck in the 60’s, loving the retro feel of a wide collar. Very ‘Jackie O’ imo.

I just thought about people reading your sign driving by and thought “keep your weaving on looms and eyes on the road” but it’s probably too long 😅 Amanda, great job with the Beam Stitch, and I agree, your colors are stunning! I’m so curious how Peg’s colorways will unfold after the neck. Love all of the breed specific insight and wool updates. That green looks pretty amazing. And the rainbow must have been something to see. Maybe it’s a good name for your Making Tracks hat design…or a new Making Tracks colorway…White River Rainbow.

Here's a question- what about the lanolin in the waste water? I worked in water and we always had issues with FOG/ Fats, Oil, Grease interfering with waste water systems especially restaurants. How do you manage this issue?
@junctionfibermill Жыл бұрын
We are on city water and sewer and have a grease trap that we clean the gunk out of every six months.
