Milldale to Ilam Rock | Hike | Wild Swimming | Short Walks | Peak District

This is a lovely short walk to the picturesque Ilam rock, at only 1.5 miles each way from Milldale with a good paved path, it is accessible to most. You can easily double the distance if you wanted to by walking further down the river to reach the stepping Stones at Dovedale.
This is such a beautiful part of the Peak District, the water is crystal clear, but because it is so easily accessible, it does get really busy so make sure to plan your visit.
There is also a snack bar for refreshments in Milldale & toilets.

Great video of the Peak District 👍 such an idyllic place. The perfect place to visit or even live..I've camped in the Lake District and enjoyed climbing Scafell Pike and walking around Wast water lake on Wasdale. 😊

A free park is always a bonus and what a lovely village to walk though, I always love those stone buildings. How nice to live there and have that walk on your doorstep, especially in weather like that. The caves added to the walk, which was real nice and you sure were right, that water looked crystal clear.
