Tongue Pot | Eskdale | Lake District | Wild Swimming | Hiking

Tongue pot is quite a popular wild swimming location but you can easily avoid the crowds if you swim either further down or a little further on. The waterfalls are beautiful and the water is crystal clear. There is lay-by parking on the road upto the falls, as I pass in the video but I would imagine these places get full quite early on.
The route is about 3.5 mile each way upto the waterfalls but its a level path with little elevation. This is such a beautiful area and I would recommend visiting even if you don't want to swim.

It is such a beautiful spot .. would definitely recommend if you’re ever up that way! Yes I am thinking about doing something with the routes.. I’m not sure the best way to do it yet.. maybe strava .. maybe a blog page.. might be easier to follow. Have a wonderful weekend 😁

I knew youd love the many pools and waterfalls along the River Esk. So picturesque which ever way you look. Glad you managed to have a nice dip and it seemed to be pretty quiet considering the time of year. All the best 🙂

Dear Char, this is a very nice place 😊 I also love to go swimming without people nearby. At the moment, there are picnics on every corner of the river. If I'm lucky, then there's still the garbage from the picnics 🤯That's certainly better at the peaks. Thanks for the video! 🤗

Yes it’s the same everywhere.. the popular spots are spoilt by a minority that leave litter. It makes me sad, but luckily it’s not too many people that live like that. 😁
