Four year without "full time job" is actually quite normal--most menial labor job including fast food and cashier aren't full time anymore, so they can avoid paying benefit. Nowadays, it is more "normal" to have two or more part time job that adds up to have more hour than normal full time. That said, yeah, no job would certainly be a problem of the individual. "Bad" jobs are everywhere.

To be fair, millennials received some bad advice and false promises when we were encouraged to go to college. At some point though he should have shaken off his lofty expectations and just gotten a job for the income.

Yup. And those of us who were wise like myself and my older brother majored in skilled trades. Never been out of a job longer than 2 weeks!

Young Millennial, old Gen Z. I wish I didn’t go to college unless it was for STEM. I would have redone my path with the knowledge I know now

My first real job in accounting, I need to relocate 200 miles. It was a job where rarely people applies (prison system, rural part of the country, though I work in the office not a custody employee). There are jobs, but those jobs are not desired by most job hunters.

My son can't find a job in his field but he did find a job in retail; he shows up, he's responsible and now it looks like they are cross training him to promote him

College degree in a non-marketable field and minimum wage places are not interested in you because they think you will leave

Ken, there is no second interview applying for fast food and retail.. not from my experience . You get an interview, then after a day they call or text you if are hired or not. If you are hired, you are scheduled for your first day of training. At the retail job I work at now there was an orientation and then we were told when our first day was.

With social media/substack this person could free lance or start writing articles themselves about subjects that interest them while working on the side. Build a portfolio that would demonstrate their skill. This is an attitude/laziness problem

“Hello McDonald’s I’m looking for a Jo….” “You’re hired” This guy knows how to get in contact with news media and get them to listen, but he can’t find minimum wage job 🤔

Oh my. The suffering of the Y bother generation is real man. I mean,if a job is worth doing,it’s worth doing half-assed. The millennial anthem.😂

Must be a just turned 30 millennial. I'm 37 and the longest I haven't worked was 2 weeks max. I'm a skilled individual, didn't major in these pip sweak courses that won't guarantee a good salary and I've had my fair share of crap jobs.
