Most individuals don’t make 100k ever in life so saying making 100k is not good enough is pretty wild.

I disagree… relationships and degrees matter … if you’re internal to the company.. then ok but if you’re trying to get hired into higher management position from external, then the MBA will help

I live and work in the UK , recently I had a massive argument with a supervisor who didn't know well the processes of the job and she tried to tell me what to do because of her authority . I pointed out where she was wrong then she initiated a very vicious attack on me. Very aggressive attitude verbally to try to silence me. She even lied. As much as she will try push me out I actually want to leave the job. When we identify an arrogant person, boss in our circle , workplace all we can do is distance, leave the workplace because ignorant people , toxic people don't change.

I have to respectfully disagree with this guy. If a big corporation repeatedly exploits you and others because they know you won’t fight back, you have every right to fight back for yourself and others. Failing to do so is being an enabler

the unions are good only when there is a fat cows like Corporate and Government to squeeze at the cost of the whole community. In reality it is all of us who are paying for your fat pays and benefits. Unions are benefiting 10% all the Laborforce. but 90% are paying indirectly for those high pays? how? higher service cost, inflation and so on. if it where 40% or 50% this would not be substainable

I completed my bachelor's of arts at age 61 and now at 67 I just had the resume opportunity to pivot into work as a classroom assistant in a local public school system. Positioning involved volunteer work beforehand.

I think she doesn't like me partly because I'm a white male and one of only 3 working there. She'll micromanage and I'll ask clarifying questions and I can feel the hatred but if I don't ask the question then I'm told to fix whatever it is I didn’t do exactly right. So it's either ask first get some hate or guess and possibly get more hate. Lose lose because I apparently have to read her mind

This is..... Unions were one of the reasons America had the great American dream. Before that people literally died in factories because there was no safeguard against bad employer practices. My grandfather was a WW2 vet who received a pension due to his time in his military AND his time in a union working as a department head at a Raleys. It was probably the economy at the time, but he still was able to support a family of 4 with his salary at the time. Working at a Raleys. I do not believe you when you say you are for the people. I think this is just a suck up stint for other reasons. Blue collar and white collar Americans made this country. But it wasn't without a literal class war. We make the operations actually function. When things get too far out of line.....well....We saw what happened with Luigi killing a CEO. A repeat of what happens in decades past.

Hi! We run the first modern hiring reputation system - like Glassdoor for employment or Yelp for fine dining - we don't think the only online market without oversight or a reputation system should be the one the entire economy relies on. But we are also in a coalition with 2 other founders trying to revamp hiring. We'd love to try to connect with you and potentially chat. If you are open to it we could do a quick zoom meeting and see if it's a good fit and go from there

That is so incredibly offensive to the millions of millennials and gen z who DO have “gumption” and are putting in the hours and serious effort but still not earning enough to move forward in life. Back in the 1970s “gumption” was enough. Now you can’t buy a house or earn more than $60k as a 20-something without being in subsidized industries like healthcare.

As another motivator has said, you have to jump. If you never jump, you will never know. When I was younger 20 something working in the restaurant as a cook, I wanted to do better. I would see this Big popular restaurant that I thought would be a great place to work, but I thought I wasn't good enough to work there. Then one day I decided, if I don't try, I'll never know. So I applied. I got the job. Worked there for 8 years and did good. Now in my early 60's, I have a completely different career for the last 28 years working at the same company. At 60, I applied for a different position and have moved up within. It's my third time attempting to move up and it finally happened. Don't ever give up or you will never know.

Many companies act like children, you put a 2 week notice they fire you, your future employer calls for a reference they say they fired you. Guess what they don't have to tell you why they fired you and they can just pre-script and make things up to sabotage your chances with new employers. The mentality is just like, if I can't have you nobody can have you or at least they will try. You live in a backwards world where people and companies/corporations have selective morality and ethics. Protect yourself first, they do.

I feel exactly like her. The only thing is she saying she wouldn't be broke if she took less money doing what she love to do because she has a spouse with a second income! Must be nice. There are still people that exists that don't have a spouse or a second income to be financially comfortable quitting their job and making less money for a new job. 🥴 I go to work in tears every day feeling like no 9-5 job is content enough. I want to do my own thing too. My problem is though I have no resources or community or mentorship to teach me how to succeed in my own business. And as I'm getting older I feel like I'm not smart enough to go back to school. I don't know where to start to get out of these dead and jobs. Usually it's manufacturing companies I've worked for and they just drain my energy to the max. 😔😪

The costs of finding most jobs are more trouble than its worth. This includes multiple interviews, and drug and aptitude testing, orientings, safety meetings, DEI training. And of course we must days or even weeks for a phone call that may never come, as well as deal with the insideous lying, baiting and switching that employers are notorious for. These are bit a few reasons why i would literally rather dust myself than return to the mainstream labor market.
