Wow! Somebody finally said it out loud. I loved the knockout punch at the end about how this is actually what everyone wants, not just Millennials

Thank you for talking about loyalty. Why should I be loyal when I’m getting cut when times get hard anyways.

Correct. Don't know your age, but I'm middle aged and feel the same way. Always have. Used to be it pegged you as a black sheep. Why? Because you know your precious time and effort are with more. There are a few companies out there that treat employees well, or at least understand mutual benefit through the employee/employer relationship, but they are few and far between, the other just want your time to their benefit and their benefit alone and then have the gall to foster an underbidding on labour amongst the employees culture? F that. I'm glad Millennials are doing many of the things they are, like wising up to the exploitive societal standard traps out their and turning more towards mom and pop places or corporations that give back for real some how vs. just big, money hungry, exploitive corporations. Good for them. I see it with my 20 YO son and my teen daughter...it's great!! I like the more conscientious attitudes towards many things ,but not all, I'll admit. I tire of hostile SJWs on some topics, but in many other arenas, like the new more generalized views on the world community vs what's best for us just as individuals...the out look on the planet and how we treat it and the openness to new visions and attempts at making real change in many ways (change for the better and for our own intellectual and spiritual advancement I hope)....I like it. I like the more artistic and creative and explorative nature of the generation in general...and the consideration for our fellow humans in general. Yes I like it just fine❤. I have a younger child as well who I see is in a new type of jive as well and I think some of that has to do with the presences smart technology being in her environment from such a young age (birth really) and how it's changes social interactions and attitudes as well. Not bad, just very different.

Loyalty goes both ways, if you work at a place that forces you to work overtime and weekends for no extra pay... and then on top of that you don't get any bonuses or pay rises then there's no reason to be loyal. People can put up with almost anything if you pay them well enough but Boomer's can't seem to grasp that concept because they grew up in a era where you could get a summer job and pay for your entire college tuition. Don't forget who came up with the idea of the "free internship", yep it was the boomers as they started getting into managerial positions in the 80s and 90s. Before that, the idea of free labour for a well educated professional was unheard of in the western world. I've had boomer clients as a freelancer sitting in 3 hours meetings with me trying to convince me that the work I have just completed for them should be free, and in fact I should continue to work for them not for money but for some share in their existing business. It takes a special person to have that sort of entitlement and delusion of grandeur.

COMPANY WANT YOU TO BE LOYAL TO THEM, SO THEY CAN USE 100% OF YOUR POTENTIAL, MAXIMIZE THEIR PROFITABILITY, THEY WANT YOU TO BE LOYAL SO THEY CAN CONTROL YOU. IS OKAY TO BE LOYAL, BUT FIRST YOU HAVE TO KNOW IS THAT COMPANY WORTHY FOR YOU TO BE LOYAL AND LEAVE YOURSELF IN A VULNERABLE POSITION, ARE THEY LOYAL TO YOU, WILL THEY LOAYL TO YOU, WHY WOULD THEY BE LOYAL TO YOU, THESE ARE THE QUESTION YOU HAVE TO ASK YOURSELF.

Having a family and with child care so expensive. Scheduling is a big deal for any employee. You can't pay alot for both health insurance and childcare. I feel like we're going back to one parent working. But with alot of single parents out here what are we supposed to do for a career. It's not like our parents are retiring so you have to pay for child care. A flexible work schedule means more than pay.

I accept my shortcomings and profit off of it. People don't understand that you need competence, consistency, and simplicity in order to climb the chain. I'm non agreeable and don't accept work unless its within reasonable accommodation to my strengths. Have these managers doing 10 things at once and making excuses when they mess up. Just say no. Cant handle the pressure? Find a low pressure job. Cant handle multi tasking? Dont pick up multiple tasks. Make a mistake? Take responsibility and learn how to be better. Don't like these principals? Find a different job, start your own business. It's very, very simple. A kid comes and shows blatant incompetence, even in the face of ALL THE INFORMATION IN THE WORLD AT THIER FINGER TIPS. Of course theres a high turnover rate, this generation wants the world to change instead of changing thier selves.

We hire 10 millennials and manage to keep 1 or 2 of them. They don't want to work and they want to make the max pay scale on the first day.
@leunamreyo36632 жыл бұрын
actually when your pay isnt competitive your hours are terrible and you have no regard for employee availability, plus vacation days might as well be a myth and when management puts all the workload onto their workforce and blame them for all the issues, theres literally no reason to work for you. cope
