The bottom of the license plate holder covers the top half of the ledbar, doesn't it? Maybe if the holder could be lifted 1-2 cm, that would make a big difference.
@sivertfrivik50883 жыл бұрын
We recommend that you change out the license plate holder with one without the logo, and get one which is thinner at the bottom. You can also move the holder up, and it won't be an issue. If you have adjusted the light correctly and moved the holder, it's not going to be a problem. :)

Nowadays you are allowed to have the original 35 watt headlights in europe. The legislation has been relaxed a few years ago. Even tesla will replace now with 35 watt light and not 25 watt lights. An acquaintance of mine had the 35 watt installed, it is quite a lot better. This is the case in the Netherlands.

This isn't correct, the Watts isn't the issue: it's the light output. Beyond 2000lm on each side, you need headlight cleaning feature (Have a look at section 6.22.9 in 42016X1723 "Regulation No 48 of the Economic Commission for Europe of the United Nations (UNECE) - Uniform provisions concerning the approval of vehicles with regard to the installation of lighting and light-signalling devices [2016/1723]")

i dont believe the 18k output based on the specifications. it would mean the bar outputs 133W per lumen. those numbers are possible but not with the kind of leds they are using in this kind of format. it theoretically might be able to manage it but only when its -20 outside. you can clearly see that the specifications are made up as leds are MORE efficient on lower power and this bar does 120 lumen per watt on low. if the specifications were honest it should preform better (more lumen per watt) at low power then it would at high. this is like a salesman trying to tell yo a car is more efficent/consumes less doing 120 then when driving at 90. that just makes no sense. i would guess this bar makes no more then 8~10k at full power. especially when it ages it will drop more. i would love to see the actual power consumption and type of driver they use for the leds. i dont see how they can get those lumens even with a 100% efficent driver that does not exist.
@altern8ive3 жыл бұрын
--Because "18,000 lumens" must have been a slip of the tongue. The manufacturer states 8,651 effective lumens from a driver's field of view +/ 45° horizontal and +/ 10° vertical. Their stated luminous flux value is 12,150 lm--

Tesla knocked it out of the park in every other category with the introduction of the Model S, so it's odd that they skimped on the headlights. In fact, this was one of the main areas that they got nabbed for by Consumer Reports back in the day. Should have been fixed early on with much better (and brighter) headlights. Luckily they are easily updated by aftermarket parts such as this one.

@@Neubs-xv8tw Not really. The very first Tesla’s got poor rating on the headlights. The newer LED ones got good results. But the early ones were quite bad. I have always assumed LED is pronounced L - E - D. Just like L - C - D.
@Kowalski3013 жыл бұрын
Some places in the world, not in Norway. Then again, I have not heard many say R - A - D - A - R and L - A - S - E - R so there's that... The explanation is most likely that the E in Led is pronounced different in USA and it simply doesn't flow if you form a word, while in Norway, Led sounds exactly like the common word Ledd which actually translates to joint. But because Led is never used by itself, but always forms a word like Ledbjelke (LED bar), Ledpære (LED bulb) and Ledlys (LED light) you always know that someone is talking about LED and not for instance your knee joint.

That makes no sense though. Thankfully Scandinavia has special permissions when it comes to extra high beam lights. Seriously, (and, it is not! directed at you) "as they can blind oncoming cars." is a seriously stupid reason/excuse to ban LED bars. If you are running high beams when facing oncoming traffic, you WILL blind them, LED bar or not. It is common sense to turn them off whenever there is a car in front of you.
