I've been welding .028 wire with my Miller Millermatic 210 for close to 15 years. I couldn't figure out why the wire was all over the place and sparking up inside the tip. I found out that there's different sizes of liners. My Millermatic came with a .030/.035 liner. Light came on. I've got a .028 liner and I'm going to replace it per this KZbin video. Thanks for the nice concise video on liner replacement for my welder.

My Miller 210 has always had feeding issues, turns out mine is 3/8" short and has the same slop yours did. Thanks for the video.

Good video, I always take a black binder clip and a piece of blue shop rag and put it on the wire before it feeds into the lrrollers and iner. It helps 'wipe' the wire clean before going into the liner so dust and dirt doesn't get 'shoved' into the liner itself. Worked well for years.

Most guys take extreme pride in the quality of their welds. I can see how the unpredictability of that defect would be really frustrating. Satisfying fix I am sure. Cheers "John".

Yeah Ian, it was tough with that old liner for sure, and the replacement was cheap enough @ $34 so i'd say it's a yearly maintenance item at that cost.... I still won't change it until it breaks again .. lol

Don't buy it Matt, it's called the "Mag Lite" it's not worth it, super cheaply made, worth a few quid, not the 25 I spent on it :)

I've been having trouble with mine. Keeps melting wire to tip. Burnback. After watching video I checked mine. Liner is just like yours. Wire has a bunch of slack in it. Going to order new liner and hope that fixes it! What would cause liner to get short like that?

Datsanice , back in business. The punch holes you filled in looked about 10mm , is that from a pneumatic hole punch ?
@JohnnysSpeedShop4 жыл бұрын
Yes mate, that's from my Astro hole punch it's the 5mm one, camera make everything look bigger (including me) lol

Do u pull the liner in before cutting iy

When that happens its not the integrity of the liner it’s definitely the liner in a bind. All I do is grab the gun and shake it a good bit and then mash the trigger but not to weld just jog wire out. I promise it will solve the issue. Also don’t weld when the lead is in a loop. Long curves are okay but straightest is bestest.

Next time unscrew you’re gas defuser remove the the set screw and leave the set screw on the Allen wrench then stretch out your gun while it’s still attached to machine. Rotate the gun clockwise or counterclockwise which ever way forces the liner out. Screw gas defuser back in looking through the set screw hole insuring that the liner has passed the set screw hole then re attach set screw. Done
