the line "could you play along with me" is so interesting with the context of fake daughter actually, it feels like a little inside joke

"the big dream sequence where you're found / guilty of your innocence" also. She literally only exists as a concept, a dream in a sense. In that way she's also just an innocent party in the story being spun, you can't be guilty of partaking in a lie if you don't even exist. The "everybody's in on everybody's business" also fits in as being about the lie itself bc the audience is full of prying eyes who want to be in his business, who are desperate to know about his personal life- even if the business they're in on in in this case is fabricated. Even the line early on of "lab rat girls" can relate to Millie being an experimental concept rather than a real person. Idk, new angle to look at it from. No idea if it's intentional or not but it's definitely an interesting perspective to play around with.
