The original (i.e. metal) version of Monochrome is a banger. It is hard to believe that this stripped-down rendition was able to top the metal version but yeh, Su just totally kicked ass here. Anyhow, I'd put the original Monochrome in my top 3 songs from their last album (Metalizm and Mirror, Mirror are the other two..well Believing could crack the top 3 too)

BM fans already know this type of unique acoustic version like Akatsuki Unfinished Version live at Legend 1997 or "The One - Stairway To Living Legend", so we're used to this SuMetal's vocals power to reach and melting our hearts, she's 25 but like i said she's been doing this since being a toddler. Also fans at Sabaton's Europe Tour as well Asian/Australian Tour and more recently Summer Sonic Festival, were enjoying the original version of this song at every show and having a magical moment. The three white figures dressed in white are probably a reference to old BM era when YuiMetal was still part of the group or maybe a reference to the new young BM unit they previously performed along with them and are part of this new metalverse project, they already debut at Summer Sonic Festival opening the festival with a set of new three songs exclusive for them. I felt exactly the same when I heard this for the first time. Of course I knew Su was good, yet I was surprised to hear how good she really is. It does make one wonder how much of her voice does get lost in the Metal sound wall. Even now, after having heard the song dozens of times, It still moves me to tears every single time. It’s amazing. The full Metal version is quite different, as you can imagine, but it’s also a fantastic song in its own right.

Have you seen the video of people sitting outside of one of the venues either in Asia or Australia when Su was doing he sound check and singing RoR with acapella? If you haven't, you need to, it was sublime and astonishing how good she is at keeping perfect pitch and tone for a song even without instrumentation behind her. She and Lady Gaga have the two best voices of any mainstream female vocalists I've heard in easily 25 years or more, if not ever.

Monochrome is my favorite song from the last album (concept album). Then you can watch the live version of this song at Makuhari or PIA Arena. After that you can also see the tour version for this song in Jakarta. The crowd sang along and it was beautiful and SU-Metal confirmed that she was very impressed with the Jakarta crowd during an interview with Billboard Japan. Welcome back and great reaction. Su has always been an exceptional and very special vocalist, but sometimes it does take a performance like this for people to realise. Yes there is a metal version of 'Monochrome' with an official lyric video and it is great - but the live performances are where this song really hits hardest. You already have links in the comments. When you've seen that there is a whole album from March waiting for you and a new single featuring Tom Morello released just a few days ago.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。[FYI : In the metal version of this song at the Yokohama venue on April 2, the audience (including me) sang that ♪ oh oh ohoo ♪ part with Moametal and Momometal, new official 3rd girl, while Su humming the melody in the sea of phone lights. What a bliss! ] Now the girls proved that they can do anything. They have forced people to headbang with their heavy music and sharp choreo. Now they can depict various images by just singing and project them into the listeners' brain to move people emotionally. Thank you BABYMETAL. And thank you Koba, the BM producer, for your serendipity. Some 13 years ago, you certainly discovered something amazing and sacred for us. Speaking of the three figures in white hood adding some background vocals, they are certainly homage to BM's girlhood with original three girls.

There are two further (very different) versions of Monochrome. The studio track which has a lyric video and the live version. There is no official live version on KZbin but there a number of very good compilations. You should also react to BABYMETAL's new single METALI!! It's a great song and super fun MV. It's already a fan favourite and was only released a week ago!

There are several versions of Monochrome out there, but I think the recently released "Clear Nite" version stands alone. During an interlude, to a sea of cell phone lights ("looks like stars"), Su motions Momo over to her and Moa for a group hug, sort of an unofficial welcoming to Momoko as the third member. I first saw Sui before she was in Babymetal on an episode of either The Voice or America Got Talent. She stole the show at a very early age doing an entrancing pop tune. I'm sure you can find it on KZbin. So when she showed in Babymetal I couldn't believe my eyes. She was always meant to be a star. Now she is the biggest in the hybrid rock world. And well deserved. But this not to disparaged the two other girls. They may sing backup but when given the chance they hold their own as well as Sui. You best believe. And, yes, the metal version of Monochrome is the first version. Check it out.

This is a throwback to Suzuka singing at Acting School of Hiroshima from about 9 to 13 years old. Yes there is a metal version it's fantastic. Speaking of the one take.. Clint Eastwood shot everything in one take as a director. As an actor himself he didn't listen to actors complaining about it. He's an underrated director his list of films is as good as any director.

SU's singing penetrates even the soundproof walls that block the sound of the band. It is said that BABYMETAL was formed because KOBA thought that this voice would not be defeated by the sound of metal. Monochrome has an official music video. It is also always performed at recent live shows. All three have their own characteristics and are great. I believe the three white-clad people are SU, MOA and YUI. Metal genre has kept the tradition of true singing alive. If one is going to be a clean metal singer, the ability to deliver has to be developed and there have to be the guts to try and sing a cover of well established band for starters.

Su always had a unique and incredible voice, which is why Kobametal picked her as the front girl/woman for Babymetal., since she was able to overcome a metal bands music. Su even got better with the years and she can express her emotions better than ever before. There is a "normal" version on the concept album "The Other One" but I recommend checking out a live version (either "Babymetal Returns" from January this year or "Babymetal Begins" from April are amazing and available on YT). The start touring the US at the end of the month and will return to the UK and Europe in November, so grab your ticket while you can :D

The album version is more metal than this one, but with stripped down instrumentation Su's strong voice is even more prominent. I will not argue with those who love this performance. So do I. But as always with Babymetal, most of the times live footage is best. Besides, the choreo is gorgeous! The crowd in Djakarta on May 25 this year was unbelievable, so I would encourage you to check that concert out.
