Milling a Transition Strip

I milled a transition strip from a slab of birch. To match my home interior trim, I used amber shellac for a finish. Shellac is very easy to apply and is a great finish.

I have two transition strips that I need to install. I put the flooring down over a year ago but have been lazy about the transition strips. Going to get this done very soon. Enjoyed your video.

I'm liking your process. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work. I was at Wainwright in the late 70s, early 80s, but the Mrs. isn't keen on the cold weather anymore. Quick question: wouldn't you want the dado to be tighter to the tile so that it would be less likely to crack from the weight of walking on it?

I get that. I went to college in Fairbanks and had to move south. Got as far as Palmer and stayed. That was 25 years ago. Good suggestion to get the cut closer.
