dotcomvarun if coming from poverty you should be grateful just getting a new Toyota or if feeling yourself an entry lvl luxury car for 30-50k. I work with multimillionaires who drive luxury cars that are 10+ years old and when they do buy they usually get another one to keep long. One of my current clients lives in a 16million dollar home and drives a 2007 Cadillac and his wife a 2008 Lexus. It’s mostly new money or people who make high incomes financing all these new cars to feel rich

Getting a Rolex, AP, Patek, Omega Speedmaster or whatever will keep or increase its value is nice, but if you ice it out you actually make it lose money, and will struggle to resell it... Because as you said, people just do not like it. Who buys that? Rappers and sportspeople. Do these people buy second hand? Almost never. So there is absolutely no resell market for iced out. Wrong. It doesn’t all get taxed at 37% . We have tax escalation, which means that ONLY the amount over 500k(assuming he’s filing as Single) gets taxed at 37%. Amounts under 500k get taxes at the lower tax brackets.

🤷♂️ maybe my math is wrong, but assuming after taxes, he’s left with $1.4mil, it means he spent $420k (30%). Look: $250k (car) + $150k (down payment mom house) + $7k (vacation) + $60k (watch) + $10k (necklace) + personally shopper (min $500/month) + $10k (4 suits) + $40k (clothes) + $10k (dinner for friends) + $10k (paintings) + $60k (sisters college) = approx $700,000 🤦♂️ Means he’s not only spending 50% on impulse purchases, this doesn’t include normal expenses (I.e housing, food, gas, insurance, agent fees, etc)... 🤦♂️

I like to buy art in the same way that people buy certain cars or watches that don’t lose value, or even appreciate in value. A lot of contemporary art, for example the Kaws vinyl toys, appreciate in value. I buy a piece, get to enjoy owning it and seeing it and showing it to guests in my home, and when I’m ready I sell it for a small profit.

Cap hit and cap value is referring to how much he counts against the NFL salary cap. Which is figured by getting the average of the signing bonus over the years of the contract (up to 5 years) and adding that to the yearly salary. It is a lot more complicated that that by thats the gist of it.

If the watch is iced out in the aftermarket it looses alot of value, but if its iced from factory it retains or goes up. His looks aftermarket, probably isnt gonna be worth much with time

His signing bonus of $8mil is paid upon signing. It's then spread over 4yrs. His base is the remaining $6mil is spread over the same years as Monday morning paychecks throughout the season, so he's got what's left of $8 mil. He did ok, especially for a rookie. I'd flip the house rather than paying monthly mortgage(French for death pledge).
