The worst part's that most of the time, it's not really their money; Their label loans them that money but they have to pay it back eventually (for newer rappers that is). That's why so many promising up and coming rappers go broke, they immediatly spend that money on fucking ice that depreciates in value faster than my dad left to go smoke a cig

graham, yes he is overspending is money, however he came from a background of poverty and when you get signed and have a contract of “Dwayne Haskins signed a 4 year, $14,416,611 contract with the Washington Redskins, including a $8,504,808 signing bonus, $14,416,611 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $3,604,153.” Spending a mil for your parents and yourself isn’t too bad compared to all other NFL players who blow the whole amount.

dotcomvarun if coming from poverty you should be grateful just getting a new Toyota or if feeling yourself an entry lvl luxury car for 30-50k. I work with multimillionaires who drive luxury cars that are 10+ years old and when they do buy they usually get another one to keep long. One of my current clients lives in a 16million dollar home and drives a 2007 Cadillac and his wife a 2008 Lexus. It’s mostly new money or people who make high incomes financing all these new cars to feel rich

Hey Graham, enjoy your videos very much. Swiss guy here, owning a watch business, and well... Patek's iced out actually lose value. Getting a Rolex, AP, Patek, Omega Speedmaster or whatever will keep or increase its value is nice, but if you ice it out you actually make it lose money, and will struggle to resell it... Because as you said, people just do not like it. Who buys that? Rappers and sportspeople. Do these people buy second hand? Almost never. So there is absolutely no resell market for iced out. Good video man! Cheers

@@CartierCasey No that's true, it does hold it's value in an OK way. AP or Patek putting diamonds on a watch will help it keep his value. But still, it's nothing. Gronk made over $20M per year off of endorsements, and he blew all of that. He saved his earnings from his team pay. Not all players, in fact not many players, can do that or even see 20M in a career. Between endorsements and game checks gronk made over $200M and his net worth is only 40M. Not the best margins. That would be like an athlete that made 10M in a career and only saved 1-2M. We would be talking about how terrible they planned right?

Look: $250k (car) + $150k (down payment mom house) + $7k (vacation) + $60k (watch) + $10k (necklace) + personally shopper (min $500/month) + $10k (4 suits) + $40k (clothes) + $10k (dinner for friends) + $10k (paintings) + $60k (sisters college) = approx $700,000 🤦‍♂️ Means he’s not only spending 50% on impulse purchases, this doesn’t include normal expenses (I.e housing, food, gas, insurance, agent fees, etc)... 🤦‍♂️

True, but I doubt he saves 70%. I am sure he just hasn’t spent the 70%...maybe someone needs to tell him that doesn’t mean it’s saved 😆

I like to buy art in the same way that people buy certain cars or watches that don’t lose value, or even appreciate in value. A lot of contemporary art, for example the Kaws vinyl toys, appreciate in value. I buy a piece, get to enjoy owning it and seeing it and showing it to guests in my home, and when I’m ready I sell it for a small profit.

Cap hit and cap value is referring to how much he counts against the NFL salary cap. Which is figured by getting the average of the signing bonus over the years of the contract (up to 5 years) and adding that to the yearly salary. It is a lot more complicated that that by thats the gist of it.

His signing bonus of $8mil is paid upon signing. It's then spread over 4yrs. His base is the remaining $6mil is spread over the same years as Monday morning paychecks throughout the season, so he's got what's left of $8 mil. He did ok, especially for a rookie. I'd flip the house rather than paying monthly mortgage(French for death pledge).
