George Kamel is a personal finance expert and co-host of The Ramsey Show. Following Ramsey’s proven money plan, George went from negative net worth to a millionaire in under 10 years. His goal is to help people spend less, save more, and avoid money traps so they can live a life with more margin, options and freedom.
This channel will simplify complex money topics, bust money myths with actual facts, and debunk the stupid financial advice you're seeing in your social media feed. All with a healthy dose of pop culture, humor, and snark.

A good number of investors still discredit the effectiveness of financial advisors in exploring new markets, but over the past 10years I’ve had a financial advisor consistently restructure and diversify my portfolio/expenses and I’ve made over $3million in gains… might not be a lot but i'm financially secure.

To all the haters - Rachel’s parents went bankrupt when she was 2 months old. My family was below the national poverty line until I was 15. I too am a net worth millionaire, my Dad too taught me financial principles. For the record my university was not paid for (and I dropped out). Her story is not special. She had the discipline to act out financial wisdom. If it’s not you, teach your kids!!!

She didnt' live in poverty though, her only bad memory is not eating out on Sunday's with other church people. They bought at consign or on sale and her Mom clipped coupons. I did all that but my husband didn't have the earning potential of Dave, being a cop, but that's fine. She admits by middle/high school, they were fine, he saved for 3 full state tuitions, his wife NEVER worked and still doesn't, except at home (and I'm sure they have help) and he has many toys he can afford. There's nothing to be ashamed of, but Dave's short lived poverty didn't effect them the way real poverty does most of America.

@@workinprogress-ye5orbut if you’ve listened to Dave’s story for any length of time you’ll hear him talk about things like staying up til 2-3am working in the early days of the business, writing his first book, etc etc. He worked his ass off and Sharon may not have worked outside the home but she handled EVERYTHING at home with 3 little kids while he worked like crazy to get his business up and running. He’s definitely self made. Idk why people are so salty watching others succeed

It's good to see you both together on both your shows. I love to see you both becoming self made millionaires. Sure, Rachel had a better starting point with no debt. That doesn't negate her accomplishments. Her dad fathered and mentored her AND she was teachable. I want to set my kids up for success just like Ramsey did. But, the bottom line is that some adults are NOT teachable. Be more like Rachel. George is also successful because he followed Ramsey's teachings AND he is teachable. Instead of hating on these 2, BECOME TEACHABLE! ❤

Regardless of how well Rachel had it, the moment she started her life as an independent adult she could have undone everything and jumped on the normal bandwagon, so it may actually take more strength to continue following that lifestyle because of the expectations she had on herself. A lot of pressure and she’s done incredibly well. ❤

Well she went from college into a well paid job and marriage with a good man who made a good income. Her dad told his children if they "misbehaved" they were out of the work and will. So it is a choice, but how many would do that? He gives her a lot of stuff for her children, might have helped with house, but they will never want as long as they stay good in his mind.

@@workinprogress-ye5or So what you're saying is she got with Dave Ramsey's program (instead of going her own way) and prospered? Last time I checked ANYONE can do the program... I am, and they don't know me from Adam but it's working. The job I have now I got because the person that pushed to hire me knew I did good work. I'm guessing if Rachael's dad thought she didn't do good work he wouldn't have hired her. Hard work beats a head start if the head start doesn't work hard. EVERY time I read the book "The tortoise and the hare." the tortoise wins... every single time. BTW, George, the other millionaire in the car? Not Dave Ramsey's son, and I believe he had student loan debt when he started at Ramsey.

@@davewarrant8673I think she could bow out but she had a lot of cushion to succeed. I got job from sister at hospital but kept it 16 years on work ethic. Whether she follows at home or not Papa Dave has her back and kids and she is lucky to have that security. No college worries or can we go on vacation. She admits that abs that’s great. It’s hard to relate though when you can’t . George gets paid well and he deserves his perks. John admits that too. Debt free is great at any salary but 6 figures or more is harder to relate too. Rachel will never have to worry as long as she’s good with parents. Sister has off camera job and son is president. All live on million dollar homes or multimillion. Not quite like the callers. Program can work for anyone but Ramsey selling skills trumps his program at this point

That’s because happiness has nothing to do with money. Yes having no money can make you feel unhappy but having a lot of money doesn’t make one feel happy. The more money we make the heavier the burden of doing good with it grows. It’s actually quite stressful to manage becoming wealthy.

I approve the short sale approach to home buying. My wife and I bought a foreclosure as our first home (I jokingly call it our 9 year flip), upon selling we move right into a short sale. It’s been a great way to get our net worth up to where it should have been (we started out life behind the power curve and needed a bump, this sweat equity was that bump we needed). Once we have the money I want to keep repeating the process buying, flipping renting (kind of the bigger pockets brrrr method with one r removed).
