We used to play up there as kids. Locally known as Conker Avenue. The gate house was derelict and thought to be haunted but we still played there.

I’ve really enjoyed watching this and the best part of how you have partly brought it to life again. Its a place I’ve long wanted to visit and once I’m able then I will be doing. When I was a child living in Bingley I have a vague recollection of walking around what MST have been a part of the house,it was a big tiled floor, maybe I’m wrong I was only very young at the time. Anyway it’s somewhere I intend visiting, and Thankyou for the wonderful video tour.

Loved it - I played up here as a kid. Further down the path, heading to Saltaire direction, on your right as you pass over the beck is a lower area that used to be an ornamental fishpond and boathouse. The earth dam with reinforced wall interior can be seen though has been breached. To the left, up an incline following a guided set of steps and then right down a path and there is an old reservoir that served the house (I think). Thank you for the video - it really was a pleasure to watch,

I'm not an historian - although I do find it fascinating to be able to look back and get some sense of what it was like back then. The local history of these areas is well worth getting to know and enjoy. :)

Absolutely blown away with this..the re-production was amazing, and in such detail, the guided walk around was very easy to follow, I knew exactly were I was throughout, which made it a joy to watch..Brilliant. :-)

What a fantastic video - absolutely inspiring. I am continually drawn to the place and fascinated by it's history. Like you, I am not 'spooked' as such when I am there, but I never feel totally alone either. I tip my hat to you Sir, an extremely clever and well-produced video. Am on my way back round there with my camera now :-) AGAIN.

Hello from the U.S.! This is fascinating! I really enjoy "then and now" type photos, so it was great seeing how you reconstructed the mansion using CGI. Have you thought of doing a similar video for the Shipley Glen Pleasure Grounds? Best wishes.

Not sure there are that many photos of the old place to accurately recreate a CGI. I do a lot of research into those places I do recreate - this one about Milner Field took several field visits and a good amount of time searching for the floor-plans etc. Glad you enjoyed though ;)

@@HurlyBurlyStudios - I've just been going through my research notes - I did find some details from a publication 'Milner Field & Titus Salt from a group which went by the name 'Bingley Hub' I know I spent a fair bit of time putting together my own ground and floor plans from several different sources which included the National Archives and English Heritage. Just had a look on-line and I see the Alamy Stock Photos now have a series of plans and elevations of Milner Field for sale ;)

I have a "ghost" photo that I took here last summer. Either Titus Salt or Junior can be seen (they both looked alike somewhat) as well as a Victorian dressed woman standing in a Croquet playing stance can be clearly seen amongst others.

What happened to the mansion? Why was it demolished, what a shame it was never preserved. As a child my mum would never let me ride my bike up there, said it was spookie.

I went to have a look as the result of watching this. Can you shed some light on a couple of things for me Mike? There is mound with gravestones on a rocky outcrop with a bit of greenery to the north side of Shipley railway station. Was this a burial mound, or part of an old Church. Also gallows Bridge on the canal. Was there a gallows in Shipley adjacent to this, or merely a name?
