What a lovely film and so glad I came across it, it brings back so much memories of what was a once great city to be born and raised in 'sadly' your lovely picture is now dulled by reality.

What a very professional presentation. I studied in Bradford for three years and so I owe a lot to Bradford. I knew Bradford was a great northern powerhouse in the 19th century, but did not realise just how important it was until this presentation. Thank you for such a positive and refreshing video, it should be shown on National TV.

I really enjoyed this film. I worked at Jacob Behrens as the office junior in 1968. One of my jobs was to walk down to St Peters House with a large leather post bag to pick up the days mail. I remember at some point there had been torrential rain and all the subways were flooded.

@@joannecrowther-Lucienne my hometown, although I’ve been ‘stuck’ in the south many years. Bradford gets a lot of ‘stick’ from too many people these days. I’m still proud to be a Bradfordian, it’s got to much to offer. I’m coming back shortly, seeing films like this remind me why it’s a great move coming back :)

This is the city of my birth. I have family buried in Undercliffe Cemetery. A scene from "Billy Liar" was filmed there. My mum's dad was the secretary of the Bradford Dyers Association and my late dad worked in a wool combing mill. I used to work in a wool scouring company. Lockwood & Mawson also designed the old Kirkgate Market. Had it survived another decade or 2 it probably would've become a listed building.

Born in Bradford and spent my Childhood days going into the Mill with my late Father who was a MIll Manager. To me the Mill was a living breathing Family..We left the UK in 1970 to Live in NZ and ofcourse a Textile Mill "combing"..I myself ended up in the Worsted Mill same Company just different part of the Mill..Bradford to me was my young days and I enjoy my memories of how it was back then..From Kirkgate Market to Chellow Dene and not forgetting Carters Toy shop..

Excellent Joanne. I think that you should produce several more videos if you can. You paint Bradford in a very positive light, and have shown people just some of the many jewels in the crown particularly well.. There are lots more fascinating places which you could include, and Bradford has so many, as you will know of course. Your video really does promote Bradford in a good way which is what the city needs. Keep up the good work! Regards Richard.

Very interesting, and brightly-presented. Nice to hear something upbeat about my old city, for a change! 👍 (My only criticism is the ‘background’ piano -it’s a bit too ‘foreground’, and gets a little annoying.)
