I second that about Pete and Dr. Kwon. Add the ZEN golf mechanic and it all comes together. Their teaching helps to eliminate a busy mind of swing thoughts and positions, probably the most needed element in golf instruction.

I really like the biomechanical approach to analyzing the golf swing, but have a few questions... Is the club taken back to the top of the backswing by engaging the muscles of the spiral line going from the right scapula area to the left illiac crest without much arm movement...then on the downswing does the opposite occur (left scapula area engages the muscles of the opposite spiral line bringing the club down). If so is the golf swing simply engaging the muscles of the spiral lines, and the rest of the body (legs, hip, feet) simply reacts to this.

That is probably over simplistic but definitely a way to think about it .

This is fantastic! The fact that manually you can manipulate your arms and hands to "hit positions" but its the body just being athletic and flowing that should be doing cannot be emphasized enough.

This video inspired me to make a #short with my version of Milo's "swim" drill plus a drill with a "wind resistance" fan-type club that really slows things down for feeling the "honey hole" and feeling the transition from the honey hole to the "whoosh" mode - in the past you guys have encouraged me to share my videos, so I'll post it w/o asking: kzbin.infonsHA_LXqd0c?si=KNBhivQsCV6Neg2D

This video is actually pretty good showing that all the great golfer did every time was to start their swing with a left side bending of theirs body then finish their swing with a reactive right side bending of their body; never doing an oblique crunch that would harm the golfers body tilting and turning; but a more comfortable side bending of the body to work in the manner of the required diagonal swing/ that the golf swing actually is To do my entire swing all I think about to start my backswing is with my lead left side bending inwardly to the trail right side of my body and then for my trail right side of my body bending inwardly to finish my downswing. I do this by consciously using my lead shoulder and lead knee to bend my body inward right and then for my downswing all I am consciously doing is a deliberate half step forward with my trail foot to initiate my trail knee and trail shoulder automatically bending inwardly to my lead side to the end of my swing. That’s it! Action/Reaction happening at the exact same time just as Sir Issac Newton teaches us. Cheers 👍😃⛳️🥂

Thé golf swing is using your lead shoulder to push the trail elbow inwardly and then just push the trail shoulder linearly towards the target. That is it. Period. Done! Or if you prefer feeling your muscles more simply pull the club back with your trail shoulder and then pull the club forward with the back of you lead shoulder. Either choose 2 pushes or 2 pulls; but never a push then a pull or visa Vera. Why do this instead of coiling and then uncoiling your body as suggested in this video? Funny with all the spiraling exercises and stretching exercises we saw you do; both of your feet were flat on the ground. Which means there was no pivot of the foot heel pointing upward and therefore not resembling the golf swing what so ever. Thé golf swing is actually an upper body action with lower body reaction. The golf swing is a crossing over of 2 / diagonal moves that our human brain can lend action to one side of our body at a time while the other side of our body is reacting opposite and yet equal in strength. There are 4 identifiable points of the equal yet opposite sides of our body. For upper body dominant players Point 1= lead shoulder Active Point 2= trail foot Reactive Point 3= trail shoulder Active Point 4 = lead foot Reactive So for upper body dominant action golfers all they need to focus on is to start their backswing with their lead shoulder actively pushing their trail elbow inward to the end of their backswing and then to for their downswing they need to actively push their trail shoulder linearly towards their target area. Actively push with lead shoulder for the backswing and then actively pushing with trail shoulder linear for the downswing. Why so easy because our bones can only push as our muscles can only pull equally of the other. Our brain however can only sense push over a pull or a pull over a push. The idea of deliberately spiraling as we stretch our muscles diagonally for the backswing and then relaxing them on the downswing is not an effective or easy way to swing a golf club. Doubt me? Try it my way and then decide for yourself

I don’t doubt you, I just don’t understand you. Any time we make the golf swing require a 12 paragraph explanation, we’re doing a disservice to a lot of players.
