I'm excited to share with you a part of my recent golf lesson with Jaime, as we worked to say goodbye to the early extension in his swing! With an easy pelvis move you'll see in the video, he was better able to keep his hips back and create ample space through impact.
Jaime is also our team's go to physical therapist here in the Phoenix area (info here: milolinesgolf...., so it was fun to help him see how a different style of golf swing can help with some of his struggles, both in terms of ball striking and reducing his lower back pain. I hope you enjoy this lesson, and be sure to reach out or join our online academy if you are also looking for help with your swing!

Great topic and video! One lesson learned when trying to sit into the trail hip more is that you have to have the pressure recentered onto your front foot before the sit move or you will hit it fat due to pressure in the trail foot. You don’t want to to sit and put more pressure in the trail side - you sit and feel more “downhill” like Milo has shown in the pressure board

Another great lesson! I can relate to this guy. I've always tried to muscle the ball instead of just being efficient and sequencing properly. I'm right handed but play left handed. Being right hand and right side dominant, I pull hard with my lead side. I'm not experiencing right shoulder blade/scapula tightness and pain along with some pinched nerve issues. Causing muscles in right shoulder and arm to hurt. Wish I could have Milo look at my swing to fix this. I practice just trying to not use my right arm and side as much. That does help.

People should watch this video like 10 times in a week and let it all sink in. This is Gold. Truly Gold! Thanks Milo!

I agree. Rewatch each week until you do this all the time! Many times we work on something for a week or two and think we have it. But just like when you lift weights, you'll not lift 200 pounds without lifting lighter weights as you build to that weight and it could take a year or two to get there. It's a pro-cess.

That looks the most manufactured combination of moving parts I've ever seen. Not one ounce of a natural swing at all. This guy will never play to his potential. It's easy to swing when it doesn't matter where the ball goes, or if it goes at all!!!

Wow, I suppose thanks for sharing your opinion. However, I respectfully disagree. The 2nd part of this lesson will be coming out in the future. We were happy with the changes and results we saw!

This is a proper lesson. Student takes swings, instructor records swings. Instructor shows faults to student and prescribes corrective measures. I don't understand why this isn't the template for golf instruction. Virtually no "pro" near me does any kind of video recording, which makes it difficult to convey the actual swing fault (feel vs real). I guess they want to make sure their golfers improve only very slowly. Sad.

💯 correct!!!...Use of a video showing the swing of the student so the instructor can correct and for the student to see along with verbal instruction is very important imo.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! I do my best to cater to the individual I have in front of me and provide the information they need to understand, process, and begin incorporating desired changes. Typically at the end of every lesson too we do a video recap that they can bring home to review and reference when practicing.

Its really so much better to watch actual lessons than just the standard youtube tips. Seeing the struggles and journey really helps give it context. Im a huge struggler of EE and the takeaway and hip push in the backswing is exactly what i do too. Really well done on this one 👏

There were a lot of parallels to recurring tendencies of my own, and I found value in the way you were reciprocating with the students own insights and linking the separate aspects into one connected whole. This is something that comes across better in a ‘long-form’ format such as this or your BBG videos vs. your shorter videos usually on one specific aspect. Also, I have a good knowledge of anatomy and movement disciplines but find that many teachers shy away from this, which is unhelpful in my view. You don’t - so your speaking my language.👍🏻

Great Lesson Milo! I have the same swing issues AND lower back issue as a result as Jaime. I loved seeing him struggle just as I still do with this new way of swinging the club, or maybe better said turning the hips through allowing the club to approach the ball differently. I would love to see a series of lessons with Jaime to see him “move the needle” it would give me some hope

Love to see how you transform their swings to produce better results. Question: Do you ever work with their current swing action rather than rebuild their entire swing? I think I saw you once teach an older student of yours who had very limited rotation to throw the arms down at the ball. It produced better results for him.
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf 3 ай бұрын
It depends on the player and the matchups they have. Jaime had some matchups here that was making it hard on his lower back and caused him to really muscle the club. As far as a complete rebuild, I'm not sure I would ever define my coaching as that, given each person is different and I cater to the individuals patterns.

Milo, if you don’t already have one, you should do a whole video on loading arms in transition. That feeling fixed a bunch of issues for me
