Hi Claudia, where about in NY state do you currently live?

This was a very well done video that shows the popular tourist areas in the South end of the Park. I live less than 5 minutes away from Letchworth and I go there at less 3-5 times a week exploring the hidden areas of Letchworth. I grew up next to Letchworth and my Grandfather lived in the Park behind the trout Pond and worked for Mr. Letchworth as a young teenage boy. My connections to this place are strong and I love seeing videos like this one. I too have a youtube channel and I show many hidden areas of the park and share some history. Thanks for this beautiful look at my favorite place!

My husband and I were just there on Saturday, June 24th. The upper falls and the trail to them were closed due to the repair of the bridge that you see at 2:55 in the video. This place was magnificent and breath taking. The area is rich with history and if you visit, stop in at the visitor center. They have a video that they will play for you. It's fascinating!

This is our second time for our family reunion in the near Finger Lakes area and decided to visit this beautiful park. We had planned to visit Niagara Falls but it's too commercialize and our friend highly recommended Letchworth. It's so breathtaking and wish I could return to see the autumn foliage. Amazing, indeed!

I grew up near there. River is drying up. Used to be so full! Was sad seeing it a few years ago & comparing it to the 1970's/80's. One of the things I miss most from there.

Depends on how much it rains.(duh!).
@lorenw1665 ай бұрын
@@bretthowland1716 Then I guess my sadness is that the area is no longer getting the rains it used to get when our "Grand Canyon of the East" was at its fullest & best. Great video that captured the gorge from all it's great angles. I have a tapestry in my home of a picture of a path through the woods at Letchworth. I sometimes sit & stare & meditate/reminisce on it. I miss the park but not the winters up there.

Yeah, I'm from 10980 and live out West and people immediately think I grew up in a high rise when in fact it was the sticks of Stony Point up on Rt. 210. Miss that area.

I know. I caught hell when I was a kid. Parents moved down to the Carolinas everybody thought I was from New York City. Try to tell people I never even seen NYC where I'm from I can't go any further north unless I'm invading Canada. That and the damn Yankee jokes.

But the Grand Canyon doesn't have fall foliage does it? Just saying. This park is near and dear to me having gone every year of my childhood. Lovely video. BTW Mary Jemison never owned the property. Though she did live on the banks of the river. Her story is quite fascinating and some of her descendants still live in Upstate NY and one of them gives lectures at Ganondagan which is a NY State Historic site just outside of Victor, NY.
