I know your disclaimer at the beginning of every episode says that it's not a tutorial, but I have to say this was some of the best shooting information that I've come across in a very long while. I always appreciate your videos, as well as your somewhat dry sense of humor. Thank you for continuing to produce some of the best, albeit niche content, on the internet. Please keep it gong.

Mark, knowing you served on submarines, it was very funny to hear you giving range commands, especially the 'spotter up' call. Thank you for your service and also a big thanks for taking the time to do these anvil productions - always interesting, educational and amusing.

Mark, You have had some great teachers and become a wonderful teacher from it. As a teacher may I advise you name them when you can. It is the only way any of us are remembered and that is a 30/70 on a good day. Thank you very much for post magnificent content in a sea of BS.

Simple reminder for sight adjustment direction. F.O.R.S. Front Opposite, Rear Same. To move the impact location of the bullet on your target. If bullet impact needs to go in the up direction move front sight down (opposite) or rear sight up (same) and vise versa for down bullet impact. Same applies for windage direction. F.O.R.S. Thanks for all the informative videos.

Neat! I bought a sporterized 03-A3 with no sights, added the A3 rear sights, and used these calculations to find the height of the front sight I needed. My first shots were at the edge of the bull at 100 yards. Math works!

I have the hardest time choosing what subjects of your videos I love the most. Videos like this one, “#063 Milsurp Sights” or videos like “#99 Steyr Hahn Metal …”. I guess I will just have to be a fan of both and keep watching until you quit making videos altogether. For God's sake, do not quit making them just because I can't decide what I like the best.😉

Maybe the most important part of this great and highly informative video is a demonstration of why optics are so much more important than volume of fire.

Several years back I had to try and explain ballistics to some non-shooting eggheads .... watching their brains turn to jelly, especially when adding in windage as well for really long distance, was a pure joy to behold. :)

The math was way more complicated than needed. Just set it up as a proportion, cross multiply and divide. 31x12/3600. I do this a lot when replacing sights in a dovetail using a indicator to drift in place. High school math made easy

You could’ve just cross multiplied and divided. No “C” for constant needed. H is to 12 as 31 is to 3600. H over 12 equals 31 over 3600. 12 times 31 = 372. 372 divided by 3600 = .103333 In my opinion, that’s a little easier than throwing another variable in there that’s not needed. You can do it the other way around also, H over 31 = 12 over 3600. So long as you’re multiplying sight radius and target deviation, then dividing by range. Obviously units must all be the same. Love the water demonstration, reminds me of the way guys were trained for shooting planes in, I think, WW2.

Started getting into shooting about the time I was taking high school Calc and physics. The math works amazingly well. By the way several historical military leaders were math teachers who were thrust into military service. I am sure that anyone among the uneducated masses who could make a cannon hit on target would be a battlefield hero.
