Milton Friedman shows us why the governemnt can no provide goods and services at no ones expense. Be sure to show this to Bernie Sanders supporters.

I've been on a Milton binge these past nights. I love how clear he can be. I use his arguments against hardcore liberals and conservatives.

I'm a Liberal and on a Milton binge. I get that's against LIberal principles but damn...I really have opened my eyes. The things about it is, people aren't willing to LISTEN TO THE SOLUTIONS and the REAL PROSPERITY POTENTIAL that's hidden because of the programs we consistently advocate for but comes more of a burden than anything.

WINSTON SMITH tell that to the banksters ? how many trillions bailout ? it works for some ! but not for the people !
@Cromper7 жыл бұрын
Gordon, it was the governments who bailed out the banks. You can blame the bank for going bust, but you have to blame the government for bailing the bank. The government should NOT have done it!

Edward Smith And what would have been the consequences of that refusal ?
@Cromper7 жыл бұрын
Gordon Bradley Some of the most wealthy people would have lost out. Anyone with savings up to the value of £85,000 would have been safe.

Edward Smith That's individuals with savings. What about companies unable to pay wages ? What about industry and commerce unable to pay bills or replenish stock ? What about ? The list goes on and on. You're hard of thinking aren't you.

I agree with the idea that the tax on the business will be shifted to the employee to a degree. The money taken by the state would not in it's entirety gone to the employee anyway nor to the share holder. Thus i do not think this is a bad thing as the whole business including the public take the hit in reward for the taxs going to the infrastructure and current and future work force in the otherways tax is used. Any thoughts?

Capitalism as is all economic structures are all Zero-sum. In order for one to gain, one must bare a loss or a cost.

Are you joking?

In order for one to gain one must bare a loss or a cost. I disagree. Let's say im at the grocery store and I see rolls available and I decided that the rolls were worth more to me than the $2 I had in my pocket. From the store's point of view, the $2 was worth more than the rolls being given. Both parties walk away with a sense of being better off than they were before the exchange took place. This is called mutual exchange not capitalism which is just a mode of production.

bostonkid9096 I really don't see the point of your comment. My point is that although it is true that there is an abundance of wealth in the hands of very few, an abundance of wealth and prosperity...although divided amongst many many people, is also created and by a large extent is equal.

Economy isn't about zero-sum. That is one of the first misconceptions one must shed when being introduced to economics.
