We used Milwaukee equipment at work and a porta-band saw from Milwaukee was used regularly. You can't go wrong with that tool Steve and should give you years of service. Have a good week coming up and stay safe!

I wouldn't mind having the m18 cordless one for times when you might need to cut something off the tailgate somewhere. As you said there are other options for cutting in the shop. But if you were working outside away from electrical I think a cordless band saw would be nice to have.
@SteveRobReviews4 жыл бұрын
Cordless is quite popular today as it seems the plug in electric versions are a lot less. They have the gear reduction down quite well so a battery version would do real well too.
@gatorsworld4 жыл бұрын
I have one of those and the biggest tip I can give you and I always use to say this to young guys starting to work with a bandsaw is....you control the trigger and you control the balance so your the master of the saw and if it didn't cut straight....you muffed it up and you have to learn from this.....as your saw ages it will develop some bad tendencies and your going to be the one correcting these....good luck....and may only straight cuts be with you....CHEERS
@SteveRobReviews4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Garor , takes a bit of skill keeping it straight but nothing I build is that straight anyway :)
@PAPATexas4 жыл бұрын
Nice new toy you got there Steve. Both sides of the blade intact should help keep the cut even. I was working on a project the other day and I kept failing, then I said, "What would Steve Rob Do" I went and got my SawsAll, the one I texted you a picture of, and the job was done in minutes! Have a Great Week Coming up Steve, Steve Rob!

Now that is one tool of Milwaukee tools I don't have! I have used them at work and do like them. So now I guess I need to get one because you have one. Great video. Thanks Steve. Oh but I would do battery. I like the portability.
@SteveRobReviews4 жыл бұрын
Mike I would have gone cordless but im all Dewalt with some m12 stuff but the price of non cordless was a lot less . Down your way you pay about what we pay just in tax :)
@bruced14294 жыл бұрын
I have this tool and I built a band saw table to use it as an upright band saw. I use it to cut smaller pieces as I have 2 metal chop saws. As a hand tool it does take some practice to get a straight cut, the plus side is it is portable. Steve you will really like it over time.
@SteveRobReviews4 жыл бұрын
Bruce that's what I'm going to do as well as I have a small shop and this compact saw would be real handy to use in a stand as well. Cheers bud.

I am usually a DeWalt guy but we use both DeWalt and Milwaukee on the job and I can say that the Milwaukee saws last longer and are less likely to get damaged when an apprentice drops it. Great choice and really great review Steve. Cheers my friend.

Wyatt I have used it on wood as much as metal so far. I plan on making a stand for it to use as a compact vertical bandsaw too. It is heavy enough so you just let the weight do the work.

Portaband is a fun tool. I'll have to admit I don't believe in warranties. I actually bought a Milwaukee tool just a month ago and it only worked for about 5 minutes. I was going to return to the home Depot but decided just to give them a call and see what Milwaukee would do about it. I have to pay shipping to them and from them in advance. Then they will look at the item , determine whether I caused the malfunction or if it was a factory defect. If I caused it they'll just send it back or charge me to repair it and if they caused it they'll ship me a refurbished unit. Shipping with tracking and signature delivery both ways was nearly 1/2-3/4 the cost of the item. It was a small tool and I can only imagine how much it would be to ship back something like a saw etc.
@SteveRobReviews4 жыл бұрын
Wow that's not a great warranty at all considering all the shipping costs. Take Care bud.

How's she goin'? I don't have any Milwaukee tools, but they look decent. Solid and heavy duty. These are nice saws. I think it's a lot better than a metal cutting chop saw because you can take this saw to the work. With my chop saw it's always a struggle for getting the work set up in the saw. I like this Steve and you gave a good honest review of it. I hope it works out for you!!! Thanks for posting and take care!!
