Hah! This kit is great, it only weighs about 15 pounds instead of the 60 of my old kit with all this stuff I don’t really use. Um, well I think I’ll get a few more arbors and maybe some more bits. 5 years later: The problem with this kit is that the case is too small, so I carry all the other stuff in different bags. I need a bigger case so I can carry all the 60 pounds of stuff I need. Yeah!

I am not an engineer at TTi so I don’t know but I wonder if they shipped the older style arbour because it’s stronger. They ship their bimetal hole-saws with a faster slide style arbour. Perhaps they weren’t strong for use with the right angle drills. I will mention it to you I’m sure you know already know regular 18V cordless drills aren’t designed for use with large diameter hole-saws. I have burnt out Fuel drill motors doing it hahaha. I have also broken a Hilti SF10W brake. It was pushing both drills way too hard but don’t feel like carrying a right angle drill.

When you drill a wrong sized hole (slightly to small), with the older system you can use the original hole saw as a pilot guide and attach the correct sized hole saw to the auger to complete the task, hastle free, whereas the new quick fitting tool, you screw up and you are going to make a mess correcting your mistake

It’s always hard going through stuff like that. You can’t help but say to yourself but I might need it someday only to realize you’ve been holding on to all that junk for 15yrs waiting for that “some day”. That Milwaukee kit looks cool, I was in Lowe’s the other day and a Lenox kit for $89 caught my eye. I’ll have to consider this one.

You can get the adapters that will mate with the hole saws so you can use the quick connects. DON'T USE THE QUICK CONNECTS FOR SMALL HOLE SAWS! Make sure the hole saw diameter is larger than the release sleeve. When the hole saw breaks through and you bottom out on the quick release sleeve, it pops right off and through your new hole. Don't ask me how I know that........Haha! If that's the only kind you have... duct tape it together to prevent what happened to me. Unfortunately, it was lost in a space where there was no access from the other side. Some lessons are learned the hard way....

@@ConcordCarpenter wow , being ask my opinion by one of the masters in the trade is humbling. Rob I wouldn't add much however I would certainly add the quick connects as you've already stated....get with the times Milwaukee. I bleed Milwaukee red and truth be told I think we should get a little more for the premium prices we pay for sometimes mediocre products ( not these particular hole saws) There is plenty room in there for a 3" and 4" hole saw.....maybe I'm just way off base...idk. Come on Milwaukee give up a little more of the cake for the guy who buys once and cries once and is trying to put two girls through college. We pay $20 to $40 more for Milwaukee tools than dare we say the a comparable DeWalt set...it seems as though Milwaukee is focused on power power power for their 18v platform.....thank God for the 12v line. Sorry for getting off topic and me going on a rant. Great vid Rob and pls keep the vids coming.

Just wondering if you have chucked one of these into the drill press without the pilot bit? I am trying to find something to make roughly 3.75" round blanks, I am currently using a standard 4" hole saw which makes 3.815" blanks but with that style of teeth it makes the blanks very rough on the outer edges which costs me more time sanding... they don't make a 3-3/4" plug cutter so was hoping maybe these big hawgs would yield plug cutter type results. Any help is greatly appreciated!
