Never use a cut off wheel without a guard, it’s not a question of if a wheel will come apart, it’s when. My old boss had one come apart and a piece went through the underside of his eye socket and lodged behind his eyeball. 👍🏻 And yes, he was wearing safety glasses.

It happens, wait till a 1mm cutting disk shatters on you. Cord is 13,000 rpm Cordless is 9,000 rpm but ridged have a grinder that will do 12,000rpm. That going stuff into your hands or body and cut through clothes. The other is you have the constantly be mindful that your fingers are close to the disk, and do you can cut your fingers etc so easy. Also the biggest pain in the arse using a grinder without the handle you can't control or push harder without it, pls have the grip the body all the time which puts your fingers right at the blade.

I don’t think it’s bull but I also think it’s one of them really bad luck situations. However, you have a lot of soft spots where it can puncture. Like throat face or mouth. Not to mention hands. Doesn’t mean nothing will happen Just because nothing bad has happened yet. Probably the same guys who say you don’t need a safety harness until they are flat on the floor.

I made the mistake of buying that 6" Milwaukee braqking grinder. After 14 months it failed. Milwaukee wanted $162 to diagnose the prob and then parts and labor to fix it. It was replaced with a Flex grinder and all of the Milwaukee tools I have are being replaced with the Flex tools as the Milwaukee tools fail. Milwaukee lost my business permanently.

Justin you’ve got the tool hoarding ability on a mechanic which you are not a mechanic, your a business owner. That being said; me personally I work for the 3rd largest Volvo/Mack truck dealership in the USA and you’ve spent more in tools than our shop tools, that’s not our personal tools. Personally I say save your money and keep it in the bank and take advantage of warranty work. And if a Cummins isn’t leaking oil it’s low on oil, carry on.

unless you have 5 feet of weld that needs to be ground smooth i dont see any reason to use a corded one... theyre cheaper if youre only doing occasionaly use but once you have hand full of batteries and the brushless tools theyre extremely convenient no cords tangling or switching outlets much easier to get into awkward spots without a tether... and you cant step on or trip over the cord and bring the grinder slamming down at a minimum braking your disk
