First of all have to think about quality/price ... And to be honest, parkside have good & quality tools. Of course if u have a job where u use them everyday and u make money using them, DeWalt, Milwaukee & Bosh should be on your toolbox. If u need only for home/personal use, not for a business, there is no point to spend bunch of money on them. Parkside is just great.

That's exactly how tools are designed. Bosch has "green" series(or had?) which were designed for hobby/home use, not professional. While blue was professional and designed for everyday hard use. Also blue line had spare parts available while some of green ones had no spare parts at all so you had to buy new tool if it broke. Also blue offered fast tool repairs at their shops. (it was in 2007-2009 when I was working as student in tools shop and had participated in some Bosch presentations/explanations). Following this example of Blue and Green Bosch you can see some brands which fit in those categories. Professional tools which designed to be used each day 8h a day and some tools designed to be used twice a month. Price, material quality and "precision" is what you get for money. If you used some "good" tools you know what I'm talking about, just that comfy feeling in your hand when you hold a professional tool compared to cheap one. As surprise to me the policy of shop I was working had an idea of "ideal tool for buyer", they were interested in selling people tool they need: You need a screwdriver to do small project? Get cheap one. You need a tool to build a house? Get a professional one. Happy customer will return to you. P.s.: Forgot to mention, I have bunch of 20V tools from Parkside. About 6-7 years ago I bought first tool and it's still working. I have small collection of rarely used tools and some of "professional"(black) line, which are brushless. Couple of batteries already died and one tool (sable-saw) burned in my hand (I used it to cut branches where gas-powered chainsaw was too heavy to use) and it burned when I was cutting 0.6mm steel sheet. Bursted in smoke and brushes started to spark too much. As speaking of other parkside tools I had: 220V beltsander I used to sand couple of boards. Rotary system just melted plastic and small driver-belt wasn't able to spin sand-belt anymore. 220V hammerdrill Had faulty switch since beginning and from bad contact just overheated handle and melted plastics arround. Guarantee helped.

I have this Parkside cordless ratchet for more than 4 years and works like the first day i got it. The only problem it was with battery from the very first days i bought. I'am using the replacement battery from Lidl, and since then works great.

Very informative and practical video. Thank you. To be honest, I wouldn't have thought that the Milwaukee tool would be so weak on nuts on screws. These are cordless ratchets and their intended use is certainly not to screw wood screws into wood without pre-drilling. No matter whether Milwaukee or Parkside. Such tools are used in the automotive industry. And that's where maneuverability is key. The load limit without an electric drive would be interesting. To be honest, I am surprised at the performance of the Parkside tool. I completely agree with you that the Parkside fuse switch is completely idiotic. In the automotive sector, such a part sometimes has to be operated with one finger in confined areas and therefore the Milwaukee solution in terms of fuse and switch is the non plus ultra here. Incidentally, I only use the Parkside device because of its low price. If it breaks within 2 years, replacing it is no problem. However, my favorite ratchet is an even cheaper product, namely the ratchet from PULITUO. incl. 2 batteries. For the price, I've been using it for over a year without a second thought and it's absolutely brutal. Rusted screws are broken manually with this thing and then loosened. I can't get the thing to break. The switch is built like a Milwaukee.

I tested the "PARSKIDE" cordless ratchet model, I made a video with that model. It really bothered me because there is no overload protection. The tool was with me for about 10 days and then I returned it to Lidl. I'm waiting for the "Brushless" to appear. Performance model, then things would be totally different. Milwaukee was a bit embarrassed here with metric threads and the price is much higher than the "PARKSIDE" model. I have said a million times in my videos that the "PERFORMANCE" tool is much better than the green "Parkside" tool. We are waiting for the moment when the black model of this tool will appear. Great video!

maybe the "performance" tool will never appear as it is 12V series and nor 20V... Same with Bosch 10,8V System which they renamed to 12V.. it toally is ass not to have this ratchet.. you can buy a 12V angle grinder mini or dremel but no nut busting tool

Parkside has a mechanical overload protection, this vibration also makes it easier to open the screw, which also explains the noise.

When I bought a new PAR12A1 last year, I immediately took it apart and immediately removed the annoying safety lock and threw it in the trash. Otherwise, the wrench works as it should. I can easily turn the car jack with it and lift the car without any problems.

Im almost sure that parkside cranking sound is a feature. Instead of over-current circuit board protection like milwaukee, parkside has physical torque limiter that after reaching a certain amount of torque it just skips(like regular drills have multiple torque limiters to prevent the screw to get damaged). Because after you toke it out , it work perfectly fine and was even shown that was more powerfull than milwaukee Regards Edit: From 7:50 to 9:00 you can clearly see that neither toll passed a certain amount of stress and got stuck at exact same bold at same dept. Milwaukee was using the overcurrent board it has to prevent overcurrent, and milwakee also on same bolt and same dept, started the cranking sound, the mechanical "over current" protection

No way this to be a feature and not be noticable when tightening the bolt on the vise. And lets be realistic - Parkside is not inventing the hot water. I haven't see that in any other ratchet.

Yeah it indeed didn't made that sound when in the vice . Don't know then...it made sense to me xD Maybe reopen the machine and see if there are metal shards or some type of gear wear.

​@@ickuAlready 10 months old, but I would still like to clarify. The fact that the ratchet on the Parkside stops turning under certain circumstances is not an issue. It just has to do with the fact that a longer screw or Bolt starting from a certain tightening torque causes the mechanical mechanism on the ratchet head to spring back before the next tooth engages. Every one of my air ratchets also has this behavior and is particularly noticeable when you are working with a extandet shaft . It is often enough to hold the shaft with your hand or just wiggle it a little bit and the ratchet goes on.

Thanks for the vid. I have the Milwaukee M12 ratchet impact driver, and I really like it. It has a very high torque (300 Nm), so it is rather designed for heavier tasks. But it is also is big (big head) and kinda heavy (standard M12 impact wrench is probably half lighter). After longer use, especially with 6Ah battery, one can feel his hands. I was considering getting this one as a tool for light tasks (as it is much lighter than impact), but the price of it is ridiculous. It is even more expensive than impact tools. So considering the price and overall capabilities, I guess I would go for Parkside this time. I think Milwaukee is way overpriced considering money/value relation.

The only reason why I got the Milwaukee ratchet was because I got a deal at HD ratchet and drill screwdriver/ 1.5 battery for 100$. I Ended selling the drill screwdriver for 50. So I think overall finding deals is the only way to go.

For the difference in price I would go with the parkside. Seem better at tighting the lognot screws. If you wanna drive those big screws in wood you should get a impact screwdriver.

That logic is true and I agree but only to the point where you need the full power it said it has but the head decided to start skipping just when you need it the least :D Then you remember that you cheaped out on yourself and it backfired at you. I did that a lot in my past and one day i had enough. Only high quality tools or nothing until I get the high quality tool. No half measures no nonsense and no BS tools. It will kick you in the ass always when you least expect it :D :D

Correct. The tools are rated for around 50nm torque so the beech wood test is flawed. When you consider my impact driver (Makita) is rated at 140nm, it’s a case of right tool for the job and these ratchets were not intended for this.

this kind of ratchet is not about the strength to brake free a bolt or how much NM it settles. it is made for quickly driving bolts in or out. the actual braking lose or fastening up to spec is done by hand. if you use this every day as a ratchet buy something like a rigid or Milwaukee, if you losen up bolts at home buy the parkside.

To get a nut or bolt moving I start the ratchet first then jam it into the fitting to 'shock' it into turning. Works more often than not.

As far as i can see in your video Parkside does have overload protection, it's just diferent from Milwaukee, while the Milwaukee cuts electric power Parkside just takes the load off the motor by decoupling the gears so it just spins with no load.

You are doing a good job reviewing the tools. The only thing I miss sometimes is the in depth build quality but that is just me. Before your videos, I never knew that bluetooth battery shows so much info about the tool, its like obd2 port but for tools. The ratchet is a must for me, I know that other brands are better and all, but for home use the parkside is really competative, especially when you consider the price. I liked most of the tools, one green brushed impact driver was poorly built but hey, for the price its excelent. Keep up the work and I hope parkside will continue its streak as cheap yet decet (if not good) tools.

I have a number of Parkside tools that I use for DIY. I’m currently rebuilding a car diesel engine. Their impact driver gets the most use but a ratchet like this would get even more use. The main snag is too much torque. A ratchet shout limit the force so as to avoid stripping threads and broken bolts.

That was hard to watch putting those screws in. That’s the teeth skipping in the parkside. The Milwaukee cuts the power to save you damaging it if you stall the motor, the parkside doesn’t so if you hold that trigger on and it’ll start smoking and possibly catch fire. Probably helps a little on the undoing of bolts as the Milwaukee stops it from trying a tad to early. The 3nm difference wouldn’t be that much of a difference on power I’m pretty certain it all comes down to the overload protection and with that alone, using them like this the Milwaukee would last a hell of a lot longer than the parkside so what you would spend on a replacement would more than likely bring the cost a lot closer. Plus it also depends if you already run m12 tools as you could get a body only for about £70 I believe but with a battery, charger and case it’s £130

Nice review. I have the same Parkside ratcheting tool and it behaves the same like yours. One time I have almost burned it because of lacking overload protection. Maybe the spindle spinning when stopped is some kind of mechanical overload protection which not always work. Otherwise great tool for the price. Only thing that annoys me is sloppy and large engagement angle when using like manual ratchet, which would be interesting thing to compare with Milwaukee.

It's not a safety button. It's to prevent the tool being switched on accidentally when carried in a toolbox, if you forgot to remove the battery. Also, these tools are not meant for driving screws into wood. You want an impact gun or a combi drill for that. These ratchets are just for speeding up jobs that you would otherwise do by hand with a ratcheting socket wrench.

I’ve given up buying “branded” tools, the majority of which are made in China anyhow. As a contractor, tools are used every day but not every tool and providing they are treated with respect they last….in our hands they do! Use the air line occasionally to clear out dust, a little oil on moving parts and keep the batteries charged and they do a great job. If you leave one behind by mistake, get dropped/damaged it matters not other than inconvenience and they are rarely stolen. They are also cheap enough to buy two with one in the store when required. We have air tools in the workshop from Aldi that are over 20 years old.

This Test is so funny...a Parkside ratchet, in a spring sale sold for € 19,99 and at the other side the Milwaukee ratchet with a price round about € 200. And If you have to buy the battery you can get this week the Parkside 12V 4Ah battery for € 4,99...yes..€ 4,99. The Milwaukee battery with 4Ah will cost at least € 45. So my choice will be the Parkside ratchet with 2 batteries for under € 30. Sure, the Milwaukee will be the better tool, but the Parkside works good enough for me and so it is not necessary to pay almost € 300 for a ratchet with two batteries

I’ve just ordered the Milwaukee as I’m impatient and can’t wait for the Parkside Ratchet to come to my local Lidl’s in the U.K., I appreciate the review 👍, I feel using the ratchets to drive coach bolts into wood isn’t the best application for these tools, an impact driver would make short work of that particular task, however if you’re using the ratchets for their intended purposes i.e. winding in/out bolts studs nuts etc after they have already been broken over then they are both equally up for the task, and quite happily have either in my tool box 😀👍 keep up the good work.

Nice comparison video, I bought a Workpro cordless ratchet from Amazon, It is similarly noisy, 55nm and it will strip treads in aluminium if you are not careful , ask me how I know?

I'm pretty sure that socket rotation stopped because of ratchet head (maybe resonance or grease). You can test it by slightly rotating left-right during "ratchet jumping over". It happens sometimes on my Einhell pneumatic 1/2" ratchet too. Low end (cheap) tools...but can be usable even with their lacks. I'm waiting for minePS ratchet, and I'll test it when it will come. 2,5Ah battery can export significantly more current, and ratchet can be even more powerfull. I er, well about 8 or 9 weeks back I bought I think this Milwaukee model for about £118 and thought it a good price for a name brand tool....... two weeks later I saw a review of the parkside one and thought for £39.95, it was worth the risk. How amusing to see the very same tools I bought tried against each other in a review. They seem to be about equal quality (as much as I can tell) and a quick test with each on broke free bolts tells me they'll do for my occasional use. Having said that, if I'd seen this review 3 months ago I would probably have just got the parkside ...

If you dont want to buy the Milwaukee version have a look at the Sealey Cp1202. Its a fantastic little cordless ratchet at a good price, and the light stays on for around 10 seconds just like the Milwaukee.

It's not made for this kind of operation. It's just made to screw and unscrew quickly when the screw is free and not thight. To tight or untight irt you should use another tool. Maybe have you precise that I confess not checking the entire video.

Comparatia este neconcludenta. Sculele Parkside sunt pentru hoby sau cel mult semiprofesional avand un pret decent si accesibil marii majoritati a oamenilor. Milwaukee este o firma care produce scule profesionale dar la preturi foarte mari,. O comparatie netendentioasa ar fi sa compari scule din aceasi clasa de utilizare si cu preturi apropiate. Una este o scula de 50 de euro si alta este ceva de 250 de euro. Oricum pentru bani platiti ,dispozitivele Parkside ofera performante decente ,chiar bune!

Honestly not a great test or comparison at all. Youve tested as if theyre impact tools for installong or breaking free tough fasteners. Cordless ratchets are all about speed and access. The big difference is that someone buying the parkside is more likely to abuse it than the milwaukee. I definitely think the parksode was good value, but for constant use, im going for a professional tool.

@@icku Yeah, but i can see that your screws are really poor quality. Some are even bent. Snaping like matches. It doesn't happen that often on any other test videos from my country or in my use cases. With hard wood too. If I were you, I would make a test with several different brands, just to be sure that my construction won't collapse after a year :p
