I think one important thing to clear up is that the Enegitech is not a "KnockOff" it is simply a Generic brand battery. A KnockOff is something that trys to pass itself of as a Name Brand, which the Enegitech isn't, and makes that perfectly clear by putting their name on the battery and not Milwaukee.

That seems about right. I bought two 6.0 amp Vanon batteries for my Milwaukee vacuum and Milwaukee Jobsite Fan. Didn't want to spend too much money just for a vacuum and fan. They give me enough power to clean up after my work.

I have 8 batteries, 2 of which are knock off. I run them in 7 or 8 different tools going in and out of the truck at different times for different jobs. I try to rotate the batteries but I usually just grab one. I'm not sure which knock off brand they are but using them in bursts and maybe moving them between tools before they die, I have not noticed any issues. It would drive me nuts if they had a noticeably less run and I would have tossed them in the trash by now. I think I've had these for a year or so and they do just fine. I think I spent about half or a little less than milwaukee and I am happy and will buy the little buggers again.

The Enegitech gets my Vote. I don't think the 6min was enough to warrant the extra $ and there are a few more tests that I would like to see, mainly the power output. Is the Milwaukee battery putting out 9000mAh during those extra 6 minutes? Is the Enegitech putting out 9000mAh the entire 21 minutes? And although it would take quite some time to figure out, the biggest question should be "How many Cycles can each handle?"

The big difference comes in when you use very powerful tools like a chainsaw. I have tested with generic 6Ah and they died in under 1 minute compared to original 5Ah with which I was able to cut dozens of branches before discharging. Anyway, you got a good enough generic 9Ah there. It would be interesting to do a price / capacity comparison. If the original 9Ah costs double, it's worth getting the generic for most uses.

So the knock-off batteries are a big bang for the buck! I pay less than 1/2 the price for a 25% loss in run time. I recently bought a two pack of 6.0 ($80) and I was blown away by the performance and so much less than the Milwaukee product. I don't make a living with my tools so I dont need to spend the extra money to get additional run time. A professional may have other considerations if you're a hobbyist like me the cheaper solution might be the better solution Good job! thank you. peace

32:00 6-minute difference is about 30% improvement by the OEM vs. the generic. That's not bad. ALthough there's something to be said for having 2 batteries (although each battery is not quite as good); but if a battery shorts, you have another one. If you just have the expensive OEM one, and it shorts, you're dead in the water.

The reduced capacity is one thing, but the discharge rate is the deal breaker. The 22f cells can only discharge at ~5a continuous, whereas the 30q are good for 15. The 22f's will not supply enough power and/or get cooked in high drain applications. The cells will become degraded very quickly if the electronics allow them to discharge at above their rated rate. A better test would be to run them under heavy load - and it'd save you standing around so long too! Thanks for the review - I reckon you just saved me some $.

I bought a new Milwaukee 18V Drill & 12V Driver. One of each batteries were faulty from day one. Because it took me over a month before finding out, Milwaukee refused to replace either. I think I'll stick to Makita in future, and the knock off batteries for my Milwaukee tools. After all. whats 6 minutes, when I can buy 3 for the price of 1.

Mine knockoff batteries serve more than a year before it start not holding charge.. i open it test the battery voltage individually and find only one battery is broken, replace it with 18650 battery i got from the old laptop and it perform back like new.. not a big different with the original milwaukee battery, plus it dont make me feel so bad if accidentally drop it during work.

Hey, boss, I would really like to see a Fake Vs Milwaukee in the smaller batteries. I have a feeling the results won't be liner I think the bigger the battery the wider the spread. If that's true then that would affect the bottom line at the end of the day. I know its 3 years late but from my understanding the discount batteries have worse cells which explains why they don't last as long. That wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't for the fact that those discount battery are more likely to catch on fire if left plugged into your tool or charger for too long. So make sure you never leave them plugged into anything to avoid the risks of an unfortunate accident happening . . .

I’ll stick with the genuine Milwaukee batteries. We abuse them with fast discharge and fast charge cycles when we are working. They regularly get hot, sometimes cut out with high temp overload. They get dropped and thrown around. They get covered in dirt, dust, mud, and concrete. We use them in the cold and heat. When I am on a ladder holding a sds max or superhawg near my face I don’t ant to worry about them going boom. Thanks for the video.

For me I have seen the knock offs work well for several tools and I have bought some for video equipment. Never had a single issue. Now, what I would like to know about these Milwaukee knockoffs is the life span. I know that may be hard to do or know right now but someone out there must have had knock offs for longer than a couple of months. Would be interested to see/hear how long some of the Milwaukee knock offs are lasting for others? If you pay half or a bit more than half and it really lasts only a year or year and a half, not sure the savings is worth it. Here is why, I have Dewalt batteries for 18V, 20V and Ryobis. I have had them for years. My 18V set is about 15 years old. Never had to replace a battery.

Mike, ive hadbthe engtech dewalt 5.0 knock offs for 4 years. 1 quit working a few months ago. I mainly use them in my old 18v dewalt sawzall and grinder with the 18 to 20v adapter. They have held up pretty well and do last a bit longer than the dewalt 2ah batteries

I think at the end of the day, the price savings beats out the longevity… i bought 2-6.0 and they have worked flawlessly. If I get a full year out of them, that would be completely fine with me…. I have had milwaukee drills and impacts not lasting that long anyways

I found that battery for as cheap as $49.99. The 6 minute deficit comes out to about 22.22% less run time. Alot if other things to consider. Not as black and white as u make .. 1.it's a 22 minutes now but probably after 10 cycles that 22 minutes will be done in 20 minutes and lower and lower as it regenerates .. 2nd .Life span the Milwaukee let's just say will last twice as long 3rd ..you can get a 8.0ah battery for $100. So where your getting 110 is besides me ..seen the 9.0ah Milwaukee as low as 95$ Listen they make these batteries for a reason .. people want cheapest option available ..if it makes sense for you buy it .. But truth be told your numbers and how batteries function over time not quite on par

I went back and looked and the only 9ah under $100 is used and says it has obvious bumps and scratches. The avg price runs about $150 for the 9ah redlithium battery where as the avg price for the knock-off sits at 49.99 that’s where I got the $110. Let’s change the math around for just a second. Milwaukee costs 159.99 Knockoff costs 49.99 Milwaukee lasts 3 times longer than the knockoff You buy 3 knockoffs at 49.99 for a total of 149.97 Even if the Milwaukee lasts 3x longer you now have the same run life with the added convenience of extra batteries on had which equals more production and by swapping between batteries you’ve actually extended the life span plus the added bonus that you’ve saved $10. This is only my opinion based on facts given. The video only covered the build and initial run time. I’m not saying you’re wrong, again based on the video I don’t know how long the battery will last. Based only on the facts from the video a 22.22% less run time is well worth the $100 savings in my opinion.

I've had good luck with Milwaukees corded tools but for longevity, I'll stick with Makita 18vt li-ion. Bought the whole bag kit back in 2006. Still using the same batteries it came with. Not quite as much umph as new, but still more than enough to complete most daily jobs.

Keep in mind, keeping batteries in the garage can sometimes weaken or even destroy the battery due to heat and humidity. Lithium ion should be kept in a cool dry place. I'm not saying thats why your batteries died but this will help with longevity. Never let the batteries completely die or stay on one bar too long. I just jumped my 5 amp and its been going strong for a month🤞

I've had terrible experiences with the knock offs, I bought i believe 6 of them for backups so i don't run all my batteries dead out on the road, From my experience, some batteries don't even work out of the box, Completely useless, I did get one replaced for that exact reason (They did replace it no questions asked no return required so good there) Give it some time and the rest are either 2/4 bars regardless of charge and don't last long at all or they are complete losses and hold no charge, Fitment into tools is less than desirable, Batteries get almost stuck in the tools the fit is so tight, and really just not good batteries.

@@foleydave26 well when you spend 50 bucks for the knock off, then you gotta spend money on the right cells too it's getting closer to the price it woulda been in the beginning, and i believe Milwaukee's overcharge protection and all that logic shit is in the batteries themselves so your knock-off would have to have that included or it's junk. But a 6ah battery I believe has 8 cells so go buy 8 Samsung cells at let's say 10 bucks a piece plus the original 50 and that 120 Milwaukee battery doesn't sound so bad. What I have been interested in is finding empty battery shells and replacement circuit boards so I could possibly build them from scratch but I haven't been able to find either the shells or the boards. That being said rebuilding my 6 knock-offs i already have is definitely worth it now.

I have energitech 2Ah battery. They basically work, BUT the ratings are just for show. I called them out on it being 1.3 and they kinda didn't disprove it. At the time I wanted compact batteries for quick use. Now we have 3s. I estimate a 9 would be about like a 7-1/2AH.

The knock offs win by a HUGE margin. Been using Makita and Milwaukee knock offs from amazon as a plumber for over a year with zero problems (8 to 12 hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week running fans and power tools).

Having said that I own 2 M12 China batteries I use for a flashlight and a radio, but my expensive M12 tools (Fuel Hacksaw, SDS Plus, etc...) all run Milwaukee genuine batteries. And will only run them I won't plug in a China battery in a 300 dollar tool

Vanon makes the best knock off batteries. They run slightly stronger then oem milwaukee batteries. Only flaw is that vanon baterry is garbage in cold weather. They also use samsung and lg cells.

For such a use i'd say you have no problems, For actual tools i've junked 6 of them, Eventually they just stopped holding charge altogether, but for such a minimal use i'd say save the money and buy the knock offs.

I have some knock off 4.0 Hitachi's. Problem really comes with time, they get hotter and hotter until finally the solder on the hot wire melts and pops off. I guess this prevents a fire, but has happened on 3 of the 4 knock offs. I just electrical tape the wire back. But they are not as powerful as the name brand 3.0s even.. All good though, because they keep me from overusing the name brand ones. Burn baby burn

Its a good thing you didn't try to open up the battery itself. They catch fire when you do. You should do more research and be more careful about what kind of batteries your messing with. That's why they are made puncture resistant,spot welded and padded.

WARNING! Vanon batterys should be used very carefully...if you use it till flat on a "high demand" job allow it to cool for a couple of hours before recharging.... theyll literally catch fire in the charger!!!

Battery quality makes a MASSIVE difference. Also the electronics. Both are just subpar, hence why its cheaper. I wont purchase knockoffss to save $20 or $30 and risk it damaging my $300 drill or saw or anything. If it caught fire in my truck at work and i wasn’t around 🙄.

the 22f is only a 5 amp battery so i hope those arent in that pack as they might vent under load... those greens are probably at least a 25r from samsung they are 20amp batteries but with 2500mah i mean hell it could be a sony vtc(i mean with those run times its unlikely that its a vtc as the vtc is a better cell than any of the cells listed in my comment) but i could be wrong about that without seeing it out of the package. but as for the 30q vs the LG hg2(the brown batteries) there is no difference between them. in the cell industry samsung is known for under rating their batteries a lot in hopes it will prevent the user from blowing themselves up. when i buy cells i usually get the 30q as they are just as good and in some respects better for my application than the hg2 and they are cheaper than the sony vtc5a or the vtc6. i mean thats all my 2 cents so take it as you will but thanks for tearin apart your batteries for us! much appreciated

Yes they are the 25r ..i talked about after this vid on many a broadcast ...well they advertise lg or Samsung cell ..i couldn't find any green lg ..so was either 22f 22r or 25r

i see well cool you got them identified and yeah i could see it also being a 22r. the 25r is a really good cell kinda a staple battery in my hobby but they are just not as long lasting per charge as 30q's and the like but ive had 25r's that have out lasted, in lifespan, my 30q's or hg2's either way good on ya to keep delving into the subject more to learn more about it 👍

I bought one knock off to try, and it worked decent, but I fried my brushless impact while running a bunch of self tappers. Don't know for a fact if it was the battery or not, but stopped using it just in case.

I used them daily. there companys that there replacement batteries from 1 to 5 years. dunno how legit they are lol. been thinking again on these knock offs for power supply mods. the 12.0 s and the 6.0 high outputs kick azz on the high power milwuakee tools!

Real milwaukee pcb board are conformal coated .it won't short and blow up resistors and chip caps if i gets wet. Knock off company won't coat pcb boards because it cost money to coat them. 1 gallon cost 500$

Interesting test. I am conflicted since I like to use real, but the price of knock offs are hard to beat. You could buy 1 9ah knockoff or 1 5ah on ebay. I would never pay store prices on a battery (double). I got 2 x 5ah real batteries for $99. For using the vac it makes sense for the knockoff. You get 7 more minutes. Makes you think if you bought two knockoffs you would get 43min of run time vs 28min.

FTLAUD 911 serious info here bro. This is the problem with these tests. And I’m not picking on any of the guys channels. From TB to VCG. These are one shot tests. The batteries are close right now. This is where they fail. Lifetime. That copy cat battery won’t survive the rigors of what I put a battery thru. Daily use, recharged multiple times. In my truck thru drastic temp changes. For a home owner or recreational handy person. Buy them. Even when they sit. They don’t hold the charge like the real batteries. You end up spending the same amount because you get 1/2 the life.

Try powerextra batteries. I own a few of the m18 5.0 batteries and they have been great also good customer service. And I agree vanon sucks mine wouldn't charge out the box, took it apart had multiple dead cells
