This is a review on Milwaukee red helix titanium coated drill bits also known as twist bits. These are impacted rated meaning they can be used in both a drill driver and also the impact drill. They are designed for drilling through plastic, timber / wood and metal. I have never used drill bits like this in an impact driver so i wanted to test them out and too my surprise they were actually better in the impact drill then a regular drill driver. A few other features include no walking, sharper for longer, variable helix and chip breaker technology. Same, I love these drill bit sets. I have the fuel 12v screwdriver with a hex chuck and an impact so I've never been able to use my regular drill bits with them I had to use my corded drill. Now I can throw these puppies in my screwdriver and set it to drill mode and go! No more cord!!

1:02 It's not tapered, same diameter the whole drill. Variable helix means the spiral cuts change angle as they go up the drill. You can see they are tighter near the tip and more spread out by the base. Helps to evacuate material better I think.

Of course a drill is going to break if you put that much sideways pressure on them. They break because they are made of hardened steel. The flex is not causing it to break, the flex is preventing it from breaking. And the only reason the DeWalt is flexing more than the Milwaukee is because the drill shaft is longer.

I thought it was pretty obvious too. Kind of a irresponsible review if you can't understand that.

Impact drivers can (sometimes) drill more quickly because they usually have a higher RPM. The problem comes when you're drilling hard metals like steel where the high speed can produce too much heat and harden the metal you're trying to drill, but for most tasks, impacts are really good when drilling with the right bit.

Yeah, put you also have to factor in the chuck wobble and terrible hole quality. Also, when the impact driver is under load the rpm is significantly lower. Drills are faster and more efficient overall.

Most impact drivers either have speed setting or variable trigger both of which can be used to lower the rpm. Using cutting oil when doing some heavy metal drilling will also help out lots

Saw this style of drill by chance the other day when in the discount shop by me. I didn't even know they existed. In all honesty I don't use my impact driver at all really but I am tempted to use it more with these style of drill bits. I love the quick change idea and the fact you can change quickly between different drill bit sizes with less fuss. Nice video thank you!

I would imagine they would snap pretty easily with an impact driver upon the second hole in a profile tube if you get a little wrong angle? Any experience on that so far?

I agree with all your comments on the Milwaukee drills. Really like them with the impact, but the titanium coatings are coming off. Too soon to see if this will effect the drill speed as I recently bought the set. Also a lot of my buddies I noticed have bought the same pack. We all wanted an impact rated drills, so this niche has been filled. Keep making the videos!

Milwaukee Brewers and windows drill bits they so easy to use and I'm a Makita person I will love these Milwaukee drill bits the other brains 10 to spin drill bit spin in the Hex tile bit like being not welded properly lol maybe I got a defective the set but it happened to to drill bits that I used another set so I went back to normal walking and had no problems they are so quick and easy to swap those extra spaces in the pack a great or phillips head bits and Hex head bits so if you have to carry tools in to site it means one less drill you need to take I cannot say enough about the Milwaukee quick release drill bits

With small bits obviously you only suppose to have just a little bit of tip of the bit out the chuck

Based on my experience very few drill bits keep the titanium coating very long. To me it's just a gimmick. Real Cobalt drill bits are the best for multi purposes but I haven't seen them with a hex shank or impact rated yet.

Yeah man, I have a set that is no longer complete of Craftsman cobalt bits, the best I've ever had no joke. Got them as a gift 15 years ago. Save them for the finer things in life. Cheers!
