Correction @ the 5:40 mark. The timer and ratchets are sped up the same, but the cut was made 20 seconds ahead on the timer. So should read 1min40, 100 seconds as recorded. As shown in our 1st ratchet episode here kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWSWpWyNfZ5lebM

I dont get why the ryobi has gone above and below milwaukees depending on video even though both ratchets werent tested in that video. Things swap that arent tested. Its not a new tool trumping it its an old tested one.

I'll save you the $60 and us the pain of watching...they are good for opening the box and tossing straight into the trash. Don't buy walmart tools unless you are literally just buying the tool to be used a couple times and then planning to throw away. Two things: 1. That kimo ratchet looks EXACTLY the same as the Diehard one that Advanced Auto Parts sells. Same battery, battery charger, and ratchet, just a different color scheme, and I'm not sure if they sell an extended version. If you're wondering the Diehard advertises 230rpm and 33lb-ft of torque. 2. Could you test the Makita ratchet? If I am not mistaken, they advertise 800rpm. I'd be interested in how usable that actually is.

I’ve had the kimo for almost 2 years. I also own the die hard one. Die hard is more torquy. But the kimo has held up for 2 years great. I got it for $49 back then. The charger is slightly different because the pins aren’t on the same side, so you can’t use either or to charger each other. But the thing I love the most, I’m not afraid to beat the shit out of it. I’ve dropped it, had diesel and grease all over, and this baby held up. They also have a bunch of nice tools that use the same battery. The die hard flash light though is a POS and doesn’t come with the charger lol.

I have the extended reach low speed ratchet, I have had almost two years and I use it dally. I have beaten the crap out of this ratchet and has worked flawlessly. I have used it to do rear toe links on some Cadillac’s, GMC, and Chevrolet’s and will bust the loose just using the ratchet, it has great low end torque. It’s not fast but still way faster than using a hand ratchet. I prefer the Milwaukee ratchet’s because with a 2.5 amp battery in them their not as bulky as others are.

I’m probably gonna get the new high speed long reach in 1/4 drive, but I’m torn on the 3/8. 1/4 is definitely for speed and access, so I’m not as worried about torque. @@mr2_mike For 1/4 ratchets, I’d rather have speed than torque. If I can’t take it off with my 1/4 just hitting the button, I break it real quick with it or something else. For the occasional job at work the Kimo is fine and the cost is great. We also use the Milwaukee tools at work. As far as daily heavy use at work and abuse they don’t hold up well and are overpriced. Any cordless plastic ratchet has to be used with care. I have owned and used Craftsman and Skill cordless 1/4 inch ratchets over the years on aircraft. They serve there purpose when used for the occasional job where needed. Are you going to disassemble a motor with one-probably not. For that clamp with a 3/8 nut and 3 inches of thread in a tight spot it will be fine. 😊

Yea but that's gotta be a chunky boy. There is no small 18v battery really. That's something people don't get with this m12 line(recently alot of hate videos cuz companies are FINALLY catching up)is they are achieving with a tiny 12v battery what most companies need 18v to do. ESP now that they have their HO batteries in the compact size...not much can compare to it's size and power

Have you tested the AC Delco battery ratchet? I saw a combo kit with 3/8 & 1/4 + 2 batteries for $180 on Amazon. And they have an extended 3/8 in a kit with a 1/4 + 1 battery for $190. Just curious how that compares.

These tools in general seem like something that only someone who does a LOT of wrenching would need, so the higher end options would be a no brainer. If you only fiddle around in your garage every once in a while, a hand ratchet is all you need.

The tiny 4v Ryobi ratchet looks so cute and compact. I assume it's really weak. But thinking about it - I'd love to see it compared with a drill/driver or installation driver. I have a Bosch installation driver, and a 1/4" hex to square driver. I'm really curious how it compares head to head with the new 4v Ryobi ratchets. Next time I'm doing work on my car, I'm gonna have to try comparing it to my M12 brushed ratchet.

Any love for air ratchets? I know most will throw you when they tighten stuff. I bought an Aircat 803-RW which acts more like an impact gun. It was a much better option compared to slow and weak electric ratchets at the time. It's claimed to make 80ft-lbs and 600rpm free speed. I would be willing to send it in for testing.

One thing I wish this year took reviewers do is a comparison of tools branded and not branded cordless ratchet/ impacts/ drills / overall platforms on the recharging time it really takes from wasted dead battery to a full battery test , and how different a branded and not branded will last on their own battery on a job task bench test.... I was almost fooled by the green tool rpm 😂

that figures. I bought the Long Shaft Milwaukee 2 years ago when they only made the slow speed now they came out with the fast speed I waited on the short shaft because I knew the faster version was coming. at least I have one fast version
