I wanted something light weight and capable of cutting. This little string trimmer is just that kzbin.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . The battery will last about half an hour. It cuts through most weeds and grass. I wanted to see what this trimmer could do and tried cutting down some brush. It does okay with light brush but heavy brush, not so much. This is a great tool for trimming around the yard. It's not great for clearing out brush but no one would expect it to be.Out of the box, this trimmer is extremely easy to use. All I had to do was attach the guard and load the battery.

@@joshuabush2569 I did. I sold my echo equipment and bought the quick loc system. String trimmer, edger, hedge trimmer and pole saw. No regrets. They’re working great! No messing with gas or tinkering with engines. Pop a battery in and go. Now I’m ready for Milwaukee to come out with that lawn mower so I can sell my Honda.

@@22busy43 how funny, I've got a Honda mower aswell! Can't fault it though... Starts first pull but like yourself I'm fed up with fuel. Do you use the 9AH batteries? I'm seeing more and more landscapers using battery equipment here in the UK.
@22busy433 жыл бұрын
@@joshuabush2569 my set up came with an 8ah battery. I don’t have a big yard. I can edge, trim and blow the sidewalk and barely show any drain on the battery. I also has some 3ah batteries and can do my whole yard with one of those. Blowing leaves for extended time seems to be the biggest drain. My Honda mower is 16 years old and still cranks on the first or second pull.

It's pretty nice for the most part, but it keeps shutting down when you ask the trimmer to do some actual work. The edger blade is made out of metal instead of pot metal blade like the Ryobi edger. That wears out with one sidewalk.

Could work all day long with 3 batteries and 2 chargers. The Kolbalt 80V chargers (all with fans to keep the battery cool) are faster then the Milwaukee fast charger.

I agree with you on battery time. I just bought the entire set (June 2020) and ran the trimmer with an (older) 9.0A battery. Fully charged when i started, dead in 20 - 30min. Running on high and older battery may have contributed to short run time, but if it is not an issue my specific battery this run time is way too short for even a larger yard, let alone a professional set up. I am a big fan of the Milwaukee M18 and M12 line, and have around 25 tools, mostly M18. In my experience even the chain saw runs longer with the same battery.

The attachment spline shaft, and the connections, as well as the build of the attachments themselves, look identical to EGO. It may be possible that they are using the same patents. I sort of hope so, as giving EGO and Milwaukee users some interchangeability.

They NEED to make the Milwaukee hatchet chain for the pole saw. The pole chainsaw has alot of chatter.the hatchet chain has 2× the cutting teeth.
@Shoptoolreviews4 жыл бұрын
May not be a bad idea. I would assume, without speaking to the Milwaukee engineers, that the M18 has a larger kerf chain because it has much more power behind it (M18 battery and larger brushless motor); therefore, it will cut larger chunks of wood with each tooth. The M12, on the other hand, is built to make those finer cuts, making it easier on the M12 platform, without stalling. Just our $.02. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Good job on the review, thanks for sharing. I really like the string trimmer line loading mechanism, enough that I might sell my DeWalt string trimmer because DeWalts line loading mechanism sucks & DeWalt doesn't have the Quik-Lok attachment system either. To use my edger I need 2-stroke oil & go get fresh Ethanol free gas at a gas station not so close to my home (PITB, loud & smelly). Same thing with my Quick attach pole saw, it works with my Homelite 2-stroke powerhead also. Would have been nice Milwaukee if you would have made my Quick attachments compatible with your M18 powerhead like Ryobi does! I hope to be all cordless some day though it's going to be difficult replacing my 6.5HP self propelled John Deere 3-speed JS63C lawn mower w/lockable front wheel casters. It's never broken down once in the approx. 20yrs I've owned it & my neighbor went thru several cheap push lawnmowers in that same time period.

Were having issues with Edger--- it keeps hitting sidewalk--- and sparks! Wat we doing wrong?
@cincybeck5 жыл бұрын
If it's been awhile since edging you may need to use a spade shovel to give your self a "start". A few sparks is common as the blade rubs against the concrete just try to keep the tool from doing hard hits. Also if your edging is as bad as mine was, expect to go through a couple of recharges. I don't even have side walks, and my driveway is only about 2 and half car lengths. I expect the next time will be much easier for both me and the tool but that first go was a bit disappointing.
