I was so pleased to have this opportunity to talk to Mimi Khalvati about her life and work. Mimi is my poetry mentor and has become a much-loved friend. Her poetry has everything to recommend it - lyric beauty, formal mastery, and keen intelligence - and I hope this conversation will be an introduction to those who don't know her work and a companion to those who do.
