The brother got mad at his brother for carrying the girl and breaking their promise. The other one pointed out that he stopped carrying her when he put her down on the other side of the river. The one that still carrying her is instead the one that got mad. As in, he keeps thinking about that girl for the whole day, carrying her in his mind. Meanwhile the brother who helped stopped thinking about her after he helped her. Ironically the brother got mad at his brother for fawning over the girl is the one that's actually fawning over her because he thinks about her too much.
