Great pattern! I added a built in pocket like this: 1. Cut two small squares the size of the desired pocket with seam allowances added. 2. With the squares laid out right sides together place the squares in-between the layers, wrong sides together. A good spot to put them is on the long edge of the rectangle, halfway between a strap and the midpoint of the rectangle. Pin the bottom square to the bottom side of the bag and the top square to the top of the bag. 3. Stitch each square onto it's corresponding side of the bag at the bag seam allowance then lay everything flat again. 4. Flip the squares out so they are lying right sides together outside the bag rectangle. 5. Stich the bag sides together as in the video but when you get to the pocket edge, pivot and go stitch around the edges of the squares, stitching them together. Do not stich the pocket opening closed lol. 6. Complete the rest of the bag as normal!

Oh boy...the pocket was an after thought really so I just opened the seam up and inserted a pocket. I think I even topstitched it into the seam for ease. I can't quite remember exactly. sorry

That’s a very good question! I had that fabric leftover from a slipcover I made many years ago. I LOVE that fabric too and have been looking for it myself recently. I’ll ask in my upholstery FB group and see if someone knows what it’s called and still available. I’ll keep you posted.
