Louis Auto it has a lot to do with the fact that posey just knows how to situate himself better on each pitch, so he avoids getting hit like that. it can't just be chance that sanchez gets beat up that much each time he catches.

Louis Auto Honestly, if youre not getting beat up behind the plate youre not doing you job :) I was a catcher though my time and high school (had to stop because of a torn labrum in my throwing shoulder) and got my fair share. Its part of the position, just gotta tough it out

Shadowvssony They are about as protected as they can be and still able to field foul balls or make an accurate throw. I've always wondered how hindered catchers feel by the shoulder pad when they are making a throw to 2nd. As far as cups, I don't think there is much more to be done with those either. They almost look like the tin man from the wizard of oz with all the gear. Made me glad I was never a catcher.

CNep99 Runners on first and second, its easier to bring your hand to the ball on a steal. Runner on third like this, its quicker to get your hand behind your glove to block a ball in the dirt. lets you square your shoulders better

I feel for Suzuki and the second one in the nuts made me crawl up like a ball. I could feel his pain. My brother ones hit me in the nuts when we were younger and had a fight. Credit to the batter for his empathy in the apologetic gesture, and credit to the fans for cheering when Suzuki stood up. Whether you like baseball or not, baseball fans by the game's very nature must be among the most knowledgeable fans (about the sport) in all of sports.
