She planned to make Bronya leading the new world in her stead. That line combined with the flashback about what led her to follow Stellaron was very heartbreaking. Cocolia inherited a losing war, a slowing dying Empire, every moment, some Silvermane guards sacrificed their lives on the front line to protect Belobog. What could Cocolia do? Nothing. They are trapped rats in the cage that they built themselves... The Will of Supreme Guardian couldn't blame her for that betrayal, they were same as her, waited 700 years for Qlipoth, tortured by the sweet words of the Stellaron, watched the cold creeping in slowly, while people died hopelessly for a doomed future. If the Astral Express arrived just maybe 20 years earlier, things may difference, Bronyal would still have her mother and Serval would still have her best friend...

It's really unfortunate what happened to Cocolia, but she dug her own grave when she became blinded for her convictions. She may have 'Had' good intentions within her own twisted perspective, but Bronya knew what had to do be done when she uncovered all the truth and lies that her mother orchestrated. Well, she was more manipulated with sweet talk from the Stellaron, but still. Even when you do succeed at defeating the Engine of Creation, Cocolia turns into particles and ceases to exist and the planet ultimately will never fully recover. The damage is too deeply rooted like Welt said. Still, that whole journey's lesson on Jarilo-VI is perseverance against adversity and finding ways to live for a better tomorrow despite the consequences of those actions.

I like to think that when Cocolia asked Bronya what her choice was, she - deep inside her subconscious - wanted her to go against her. Wanted her to oppose the horror she had tried so desperately to go against; wanted her to succeed where she failed. Cocolia said so herself: she never did force her daughter to go through hell just for the sake of the ultimate plan. Maybe it was her last form of rebellion: adding a variable that would ultimately decide for itself, rather than follow. And that, for a brief moment before her death, we witnessed her true self shine through. She's relieved that she's finally free from the chains. Ironically, she was the one whose mind was shackled with chains, not Bronya.

Cocolia was always one of my favourite character tropes. She means well and had upstanding morals but said morals were slowly broken and whittled away by the desperation of their circumstances, the will of powers greater then her own and an always compromising desire to make a better world, no matter the cost.

I'm pretty sure the Trailblazer was saved from the doomsday beast by the stellaron inside them activating. That's probably why they were convulsing uncontrollably afterward until Welt came presumably to seal it back up.

Because when you take two characters that are canonically involved in a romantic relationship, even if it's in another continuity, and then you give them a shitload of romantic tension as well as what is essentially a proposal on screen, people read between the lines. Bronya x Seele is barely even shipping, it's just reading the room. They're not just friends, as much as they may say so on screen. It's really hard to pretend like there's nothing there. It's just that some people can't stand same-sex relationships and flip their shit so it's done as subtext in order for idiots to not go apeshit over it. Because of this you're free to see their interactions as platonic if you really want to. It's naïve at this point, but it's your prerogative just as it's anyone else's to see it as romantic.
