2:52:50 I like House Brax. With their unicorn and color scheme, in my head I always call them "The Knights of Lisa Frank."

Tin foil theory time Robert. Grond IS the original Grond. Morgoth was taken away at the end of the first age, but his weapon was left behind. It still had the same technology/magic embued within it. Since we are never given a true account of the size of the Valar, it could have been that large. Sauron collected the original Grond and reforged it to smash the gates as he could not come up with a greater tool to do so. I don't actually believe this, but would be really cool.

I think I disagree about your thought on if Boromir had lived and made his way back to Minas Tirith. I agree to the point that with Boromir, Denethor would've tried to hold on to power. I believe both of them them would've witnessed Aragorn un furl the standard of the 7 stars during the battle of the Pelanor fields and would've been swayed just like Eomer was and the rest of the folk of Gondor. Unfortunately with boromir's death Denethor was too grief stricken to accept that his line was nigh ended and was so hell bent on taking his own life and Faramirs. But it makes me a bit sad that Denethor chose to take his own life and wasn't able to witness Aragorn declare himself king by unfurling the standard because it is my favourite part of the books. You know when Eomer stands on the hill with no hope and stands in defiance of the enemy... I love it

I was under the impression that the arkenstone didn't corrupt because it was a powerful object but because of dragon sickness from smaug hoarding all that treasure for so long

After the destruction of osgilith and the fall of minas morgul and the occupation of ithilian, minas tirith became basically a Frontline fortress so my guess is that a majority of the occupants living there are essential personal for the upkeep of the capital and it's defenses. The population would be much lower than the southern fiefs that were much further away from Mordor
