Pickled beets love them. When I was at home we canned them every year. We also did pickles and many more things every year. We even made homemade ketchup that we put in pop bottles and capped them off. Enjoy watching all the places you go. Frog legs yum Never had gator yet. Turtle is good

Awesome video man. I was born and raised in New Orleans. This is a great place to go grab a bite to eat that gives you your moneys worth. My uncle co-owns Dickie Brennan’s steakhouse, Bourbon House, Le Petite, and the Palace Cafe(All downtown/French Quarter). The Palace cafe has a wonderful brunch special on Sunday's. Either sit outside in front of the restaurant along Canal St if the weather permits; or go sit inside. They do have private rooms as well; if you have at least 7 people eating then they won’t mind seating you in one of the rooms as long as there aren’t any private reservations at the same time. Keep up the great content!

Shout out to Joel for coming to New Orleans. The 504 definitely loves Joel ❤️!! FYI, Metairie isn't New Orleans. It's a suburb of New Orleans. While you can get great cuisine in Merairie, it's not the same New Orleans. The fish you were eating was probably catfish and we call it blackened fish not bronzed.

The chicken “étouffé” looks like chicken creole. Usually étouffé is with seafood and might have some tomatoes but it’s not a red gravy. Chicken creole (which consists of a red gravy) can also be made with seafood.

Joel, today I am truly JEALOUS of you! $13 for all that down home cookin! WOW. I started salivating when I saw the white beans. They just look perfect! The smothered cabbage and cornbread almost made me cry. I' have never had bronze fish, but it sure looks like something I would love to try. After I saw you eating all that delicious food, I went to my fridge to see what was there, and I found a tub coleslaw and some of PICKLED BEETS!!!! That was about all I had. Oh, well, at least one of us got to have a great meal! The crunchiness of that fried fish was just too much. I'm dying now!
