You should always pre-tinning both connection.... way easier and faster, and better connection :). nice video !

The defuser should be spaced as far away from the LEDs as the LEDs are from each other for best effect.

Flux rules haha, yes, nothing better looking then a nice wet solder joint. You can make junk lead solder look good with fresh flux.

I have been working on a lighting system for the Ender 5 Plus and have printed some 2020 extrusions and some brackets to position them so they light up the build plate, I had planned on designing a difuser that would clip onto the sides of the 2020 extrusion and use the adhesive on the LED strips to fix them to the extrusion, however, your solution looks better, I have a board that plays samples I forget the name of it though but it would be ideal for that Cylon audio effect

Something like a DFRobot would be awesome for that. If you need any help using this process feel free to drop into the discord. Glad to help. I'm going to likely do a separate video deep diving into more of the design if there is enough interest.

@@MakersMashup The board I have is a Sparkfun WAV Trigger, its a good board that can hold 14 44.1Khz 16 bit stereo samples and can play them polyphonically it has an onboard mono amp as well, it was quite expensive but at the time I needed a quality sample board that I could trigger with MIDI, I had it teamed up with a Teensy board running a virtual analogue synth and I ran a drum kit sample bank and some high quality string and pad samples on the Sparkfun

That sounds pretty sweet. I will have to check out that board. the DFRobot is good for pops and things but I wouldnt call it high quality. I'll check that one out. I did a project years ago where I used an Arduino DMX shield and a midi library to receive midi signals from a numark orbit to control lighting. Was pretty cool but your project sounds far cooler.

Nice video and idea! Could you please share the cable cutter you have used, it seems amazing! Thank you in advance.

Yeah for sure, I forgot to add it. I actually have two models, this is the one I prefer but they are many clones out there. amzn.to/3vk3W3m IMHO worth EVERY penny.

Interesting use on the StickyTack!!! I've also used StickyTack when Supergluing to hold objects together temporarily or even creating a dam to hold epoxy to a repaired object or fill with Superglue and then add baking soda for filler and to quickly cure/solidify the Superglue!!! Good Stuff!!! Awesome on the channel lens covers!!! Kinda has the throwback arcade feel!!!😁👍🏻

I had never heard of Stickytack, it is called Bluetack in the UK
