Hello Phillip. The name is pronounced Queens-Rike, and they're from Seattle, Washington US. They're know for vocalist Geoff Tate's incredible range, and precise instrumentation. Also, at least two, that I know of, concept (or story) albums. They're definitely worth checking out. I think you're right on the song interpretation, as well as lucid dreaming.

A beautiful song! This is the ORIGINAL LINEUP of Queensryche (my favorite band of all time!). They are very diverse in their songwriting, but always incorporate great melodies and harmonies with heavier elements and intensity! Try "Take Hold of the Flame" to see another side of them. Then the entire concept album "Operation: Mindcrime" which is EPIC and highly regarded! Each band member is VERY talented! And Geoff Tate's vocals are crazy good! In his prime he had a 4 octave range! And so much more: Tone, color, expression , vibrato, phrasing, power, intensity...he has it all! This was a ballad, so he wasnt belting here, but when he does, it'll peel your skin right off! I enjoyed your reaction and insights. Yes, it's about learning how to realize you're dreaming and being able to control what direction your dream takes. I hope you review more original lineup Queensryche!

The first part of the name of that band is correct. The second section of it starts in the same way as the word right. The che at the end of it is the same as the English ck. So, the spelling of it is this; queensryck. It rhythms with dyck, as in Dick Van Dyck. It's the Dutch word for dam.
