Interesting idea with the chords Danny... Like that... I've just come up with a similar system myself in Logic.....I played in a progression, then added Logic's midi plugin Transposer and selected a scale type for instance Mixlodian, and played around the the root note.. you can get some really interesting results, that I would never have done just by playing in Minor 9th's, 11ths....And the good thing is that there are multiple scale types to pick from... OK some might sound crap.... but there is gold to be found here.... Defo worth a try mate.
