His mom was paralyzed for the last 10k days of her life and Maynard (singer) took care of his mom. This was dedicated to her when she finally died. She was super religious and never lost faith even under the shittiest conditions. Maynard is spiritual but doesn't believe what she does and he just wants God to do her right and give her fucking wings!

Just a heads up, as others have said this is part 2 of the two songs that go together, Wings For Marie/10,000 Days. Tool has a few songs like that so for future reference Parabol/parabola, Disposition/Reflection/Triad, Intension/Right In Two, Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned, each go together as one "song". love the reaction, make sure to go back and listen to the first half of this song. its the previous track on the album called "wings for Marie (Pt1) it sets the tone for the journey of the song you reacted to, and the end of this song is a full circle from the first part that you missed. TOOL frequently has to cut up their larger songs into multiple tracks. if you ever do the song called "reflection" make sure to listen to the whole thing. 3 tracks long, Disposition, Reflection, Triad. keep going down the TOOL rabbit hole my friend.
