TOOL was my transition in the 90's from just rap to adding the genre. Back then, I had bass subs in my trunk and a lot of rock mixed then didn't utilize the sounds of the subs until I got a TOOL CD and the bassist in the band has his bass sound forward which thumped! I saw them live this year and they still play and still my fav band of all time!

The song is broadly about hypocrisy and calling people out for pointing fingers when they're guilty of their own transgressions. There are a lot of references to weed and how legislators criminalized it while doing their own shady shit behind closed doors. Ok, I'll give you the behind scenes on this one... Danny Carey, Tool's drummer was arrested for simple possession of marijuana and sentenced to 45 days in jail. The judge who sentenced him was also arrested for possession of marijuana, but the charges were dropped. It's a reference to the old adage of the "pot" calling the kettle black... And how the "Kangaroo Court" metaphorically "Hung the guilty with the innocent"... The judge has his head up his asshole, therefore "eyeball deep in muddy waters, fucking hypocrite"!!! Give it a closer listen to the lyrics and hopefully it'll make alot more sense...
