I rode a "graviton" many times at the Astroworld Theme Park in Houston...late 60's or early 70's. It was called the Barrel of Fun or something like that. It would spin until the centrifugal force had you plastered to the sides and the floor of the barrel would drop out. It was great fun. I remember it being very windy with swirling air and pleasantly cool inside it on a hot summer day.

Still haven't seen the Oppenheimer movie yet. It's supposed to be very good. But, this picture seemed appropriate for timing.

Candy man store at 6:04, with all those glasses jars stacked ontop upon another.. Should be an epic scale of mess if one wobbled around and toppled the others to fall...

Loved the Charles Schultz photo. The guys being jumped over by the motorbike - look at the face of the second-last guy lying on the ground. He is not a happy camper. Great collection.

Great photos, however, I believe the "mother removing loose tooth, 1897," is staged.
@AmazingHistoricalPhotos4 ай бұрын
Possibly … a lot of these old photos are staged. The famous one of the iron workers having lunch on a skyscraper beam being the most staged of all. But they are still cool old photos so they get left in 🤗

We are all a snapshot in time. We Blow away like dust before the wind and are place remembers us no more. 😢

I don't believe that. All of our deeds are recorded and will be remembered at Judgement for good or for bad. Investments in eternal treasure will be remembered and rewarded. Deeds based on faith in Jesus are the only way to transfer temporal activities or wealth into the infinite.

4:00 looks like it’s altered ..look at the part of the cats back that you can see thru..it is it the quality of the pic?…I know a lot of fake pictures from the past are going around …just be aware and don’t everything you see

Welcome, you might be new to the channel… We have a reputation for dismissing thousands of photos before selecting…. At least 95% of the photos we see do not get used …. Most of them are very rare .. with the exception of this one which is actually quite well known … certainly not fake.

I hope you will rethink the large banner for your comments, it covers so much of the picture I have to double back (wait for it to fade again) to see the details, and often the subject of the picture.
@AmazingHistoricalPhotos11 ай бұрын
The vast majority of people like it just the way the are and that's after much experiment. So, I go with the majority on these things. However, many have pointed out for those who wish to spend more time just viewing the photo (like I do !) The banner lasts for 8 secs ... just hit pause (you have another 7 seconds to do that). Then you can look for as long as you like. Hope this helps.

Dear God, anything but that! 0:54 Couldn’t the poor kid just wait for his loose tooth to fall out? 😟🫣 For that suffering, give him some 💵
@AmazingHistoricalPhotos Жыл бұрын
The old tested method was to tie string to a door and slam it shut ... This worked and was how my first loose tooth was removed as a little one !
@athenathegreatandpowerful63658 ай бұрын
It doesn't hurt. I pulled a couple of mine that way. Generally they did it with kids who were known biters. You had to be sure your tooth was underneath your pillow, no tooth no dime. Kid was probably afraid it would come out and he'd lose it so had mom pull it.
