For a moment I thought I was listening to a recording of the voice of a younger Joseph Goldstein. Thanks for clear and concise dharma.

"The mind is the core" woul be a true statement, if it wasn't for the "small" problem of Anatta. No(t)Self means No(t)Core; everything is a manifestation of a specific, impermanent, ever-changing set of causes and conditions. And all of these are Core-less too... Insisting on ONE cause as THE most important is, in my opinion, wrong. For candlelight to appear, three conditions must co- arise; three conditions must merge together: - Candle - Heat - Oxygen If any one is absent or not functioning, the candlelight will not arise. So then, how can we say "this is the main cause" if without the other two nothing will happen? In the same way, if there is no body AND mind, both of them, neither Dukkha nor Sukha nor Nibbana will occur. Is there Dukkha without birth? No Is there birth without becoming? No Is there becoming withou clinging? No Is there clinging without craving? No Is there craving without feeling? No. Is there feeling without contact? No. Is there contact without sense organs & their objects? No *Can there be sense organs if there is no body? No.* So then, how can we say "the mind is the main factor, others (body) are secondary" if the chain of dependent arising can be cut if any of the links are absent? Can Nibbana be ascertained if there is no body? Is mind possible without relying on body for its arising? No and no.
