I've loved Interpol for years. Even seen them live. Any band that has the confidence and passion to release a video without them in it, deserves so much respect it hurts. This is one of the greatest modern songs ever recorded. Abstract lyrics that are so equivocal and yet evocative, driven by this hypnotic bass line and oscillating guitar riff. The slow crescendo building up to the voicemail is so chilling, almost like the anxiety and mustering of courage to pick up a call in the middle of the night from a loved one. So much sentimental value in that song for me personally and vividly takes me back to a painful time in my life.

Indie Rock was originally used to describe record labels, however, eventually became associated with the music they produced. Then, as the bands of grunge and punk revival Americans , and then bands Britpop British broke into the music market in the 1990s , came to be used as an identifier of such groups. As of 2000, Indie Rock is a recognized music genre. For anyone of you who are still arguing...
