I said 814, then reversed to 418, then subtracted those to get 396. then I reversed that to get 693, and added that to 396 like you said, and got 1,089... I shit bricks when you did that

It will always end up to be this number if you started with a 3-digit number that uses 3 different numbers and that did not contain any zeros.

My input: I love the misdirection from the example - "let's say for example, the answer is 87." He skims over this part so quick, people don't realize the math is wrong and the answer is actually 99! The only thing I don't get is when a number similar to the example is used i.e. When the first and last digits are consecutive. For example: if I chose 253 then 352-253=99, 99+99=108 not 1089. Or if I did 251, then 251-152=99 once again.

This will almost always work due to math. cba-abc equals a number. Since c is bigger than a, b-b with remainder, will equal 9. Since that will borrow 1 from c, c + a = 9. So a + c = 9, b + b = 18, and remove the 1. c + a = 9, +1 = 10. 1089. ( P.S., This does not work on x, y, x +1, when x and y are numbers from 1-9. You will get 198.)

i understand the trick, no matter what 3 digit number you choose, the very final total will always be 1,089, i did this trick over 30 times and it came out to 1,089 as the very final total

If you got 198 its because the difference was too small and he didn't say to count the leading zero. It works if you count the leading zero. Example: 625 - 526 = 099 and 099 +990 = 1089 It's a math trick.

I was doing the math in my head and I saw that when your numbers were reversed, and you subtracted them, you also got 198. Then you just reverse it, add, and then you get the same number as all your viewers.

915 ended up 1089,, gud job,, but every number wud end up after the 1st process of reversing and subtracting wud give a number = 396 or 693. so when u add em, it will give 1089,, but then i tried using numbers,, like the 1st and last digits are consecutive like 7 and 8, 9 and 8,etc,, so i used numbers like 736 or 968 or whatever,, the 1st step wud end up giving 99 as the answer, so reversing and adding wud give 198.. so basically it being a two digit number, it would never end up as four digit number 1089.. i guess this is the trick!
