After the classic first three seasons, watching this is shocking! Even the great actors (Ms. Courtney, Barry Evans, Giovanni Coppello, Ranjit Singh and Juan Sarvantez) from the original series could not do anything to save this series. I can see that the script writing is bad, the sound track is terrible and there is hardly any comedy here.

It was made on a much lower budget. They couldn't afford a studio with a live audience, so it was filmed in an empty office building and canned laughter dubbed on afterwards, which badly affected the actors' timing and delivery.

I have researched and found out that the episodes of season 4 were burned due to a fire in their studio. Episodes do exist of Seson 4 but you cant find it anywhere except this one

The opening theme sounds like the the 'put on hold' music from an Indian call centre. I saw some of this in early 1986 on Granada TV. They broadcast the whole series. I don't remember it being THAT bad. I remember my dad commenting on the production quality, saying that the lighting produced too many shadows and that it wasn't BBC standard. I never even noticed. I remember seeing the lady who plays Michelle pop up on The Price Is Right (or Play Your Cards Right).

Made by TRI Films Ltd, it wasn't commissioned by any of the ITV companies, it was Albert Moses' project to try and revive the series. You can't really call it the '4th series' because it was made by an independent production company and sold to the very few ITV companies that broadcast it, only a few of those broadcast the full series. LWT who produced the original, didn't want it. Made for international sale to the countries that were desperate for more Mind Your Language and made in Uxbridge Technical College, not a TV studio. It was a revival series, not a 4th series.

It was a continuation of the series with some characters and storylines continuing on from the previous episodes, so certainly qualifies as being called a 4th series. It wasn't made at Uxbridge Technical College, by the way, they only did one exterior shot there. It was filmed in an office building near Waterloo Station.

Season 4 was broacast in the UK and sold to a number of countries around the world. However, the production company went into bankruptcy shortly afterwards and the master tapes were seized as a company asset. They've long been lost. I have 11 episodes that were taped from the UK TV broadcast by someone who worked on the production, and am on the trail of the remaining 2 episodes.

Dino Shafeek (Ali) and Tommy Godfrey (Sidney) had died. Robert Lee (Tago) was too unwell to return and passed away the following year. Francoise Pascal (Danielle), Kevork Malikyan (Max), and Jamilla Massay (Jamilla) declined to return, Pik-Sen Lim (Su-Lee) was busy making another TV series, and Iris Sadler (Gladys) had retired from acting.

Season 4 is not worth watching! It's really boring and unfunny 😭, first 3 seasons were totally fine. The reason is most of the original actors were absent in 4th season, and unfortunately 3 of them passed away. And yes there's not much of the season 4 in internet. If u are lucky you may find one or two episodes but rest of those are not available

He still had the VHS tapes which he kindly provided me with so I could make copies. I have been restoring them, improving the sound and picture quality the best I can. He only had 11 of the 13 episodes, however, so I still need to track down the remaining 2 before the series is complete.

@@forwatching_video Times had changed and, by the mid 80s, the MYL brand of humour had fallen out of fashion. No TV broadcasters were interested in funding the production of a 4th season, so the producers fundly it independently themselves (hence the low budget), hoping to then sell it to broadcasters around the world. It didn't sell as well as the producers had hoped and they ended up losing a lot of money on the deal.

As far as I know, this season was made & broadcasted in 1985 and Ali Nadeem died in 1984, he was a great comdeian from Dhaka, Bangladesh, was our pride. Sydney(the cleaner) also died in the same year. Also some other actors like taro nagajumi left uk Anna smith, su lee didn't act,so the show became kinda dull.

This looks terrible. Just the main theme looks lame and boring. I know that this is a combination of opening and closing scenes, but it is very cheap, and the new characters don't have the magic and uniqueness of the original cast at all. It is a big pity that season 4 was not properly released, due to an alleged fire of the studio, which I do not know whether to trust it or not, didn't do any digging, just read some comments about it here on KZbin. Yet season 3 seemed to be hanged on a cliffhanger, without some conclusion. I guess it was an intention to leave it open for another season. I really wish there was another season, coz I will truly miss it, given the fact that I just finished watching all 3 seasons in HQ here on KZbin. Thanks so much at least for those seasons. Extremely enjoyable, laughed so much.
