A short Minder sketch with Dennis Waterman and George Cole. Cole was performing in The Pirates of Penzance, with Waterman in Windy City, hence both had musical performances too!

I remember watching Minder in the early Eighties and thinking, this is pretty good. Now when I watch it I think it's 'fantastic', particularly Gearge Cole. What a character he created with Arthur.
@songsmith31a29 күн бұрын
Indeed. Not forgetting the quality of the writing that gave the actor the opportunity to create such a memorable character.

Arguably one of the best series to ever be broadcast on television, great stories and acting, not like the piffle we have to put up with now.

I loved mimder. Arthur daley and terry mccann were a great double act. George cole was also in a one off sweeney episode when he was being bullied by a younger man. The third regular actor in minder was dave the barman in the winchester club played brilliantly by glynn edwards. R.i.p. to all of them.

Always a laugh to see Glynn Edwards turn up in 60s and 70s movies like Zulu, Ipcress File, or Get Carter..

I absolutely love watching the re runs..it was part of my life to look forward to the next Minder.. It was a piece of my diet in life.. And I would do it again exactly the same.. I read George Coles book..The world is my Lobster.. It was excellent.. These 2 were like Rhubarb and Custard.. you couldn't really eat them separately.. A toast to you 2 gentlemen. I'm glad I grew up with you both.. Thank you

I still love " Minder " when I watch it today. Those two had a real chemistry together. It entertained us, unlike the piss=poor woke unfunny attempts at comedy today, by performers without personality, who are afraid of their own pathetic shadows. RIP Arthur, Tel and Dave.

Both wre very good at their trade, George Cole's Arther Daley was not supposed to be the main character in Minder but his involvement and acting and Dennis Waterman's undoubted talent, just made Minder an extraordinary show to watch.

He cut his hair very short for that football movie he did in 1982, and it was be 1984 before the next series of Minder started, so probably kept that image for a while

He also went very thin up top quite young! I used to see him fairly regularly in the 90's and he wasn't like his Sweeney or Minder characters at all. Quite a quiet chap actually.

A character duo made in heaven. Was it really that long ago? Even Arthur Daley would have to admit you can't put a value on time.

One of the very best shows of all time. 2 great characters who played brilliantly off of each other with a great supporting cast of characters. Particularly worth a mention is the great Patrick Malahide as the constantly exasperated ’Cheerful Charlie’ Chisholm. The non-pc scripts were sharp and brilliantly written. Today’s TV pales badly against this show, mainly because of the woke messages that bombard the box, instead of entertaining the viewers.
