Not entirely filmed in *Greater London* and surrounding areas. Series 8 episode 7 titled *A Bird in the Hand is Worth Two in Shepherd's Bush* was partly filmed in *Bradford.* You can see the exterior of the *The Ring O Bells* now known as *Bolton House* at *18 Bolton Road, Bradford.* Roughly 30 metres away from the main entrance to the grounds of *Bradford Cathedral.* It's possible they filmed the interior scenes in there too, but as I haven't been in that former pub in my life, I'll have to compare photos online. You can see an aerial shot of *Kirkgate* the street starting at *Barclays Bank* heading towards *Kirkgate Shopping Centre* which is also on *Kirkgate* the street. It looks to have been taken from whatever building used to be next door to *The Midland Hotel,* but it's that long ago now I can't remember what was on that side of road other than some youth career advice place on the ground floor. Plus there was never any need to go over there anyway when all the shops were on the opposite side of the road. You can see various shots of *Bradford Forster Square* railway station. The side towards *The Broadway Bradford* and *The Midland Hotel* has been turned into a car park, a recently demolished *Royal Mail sorting office,* and a recently closed *HM Revenue and Customs Office.* However the main *Bradford Foster Square* railway station building and the tracks going towards *Forster Square Retail Park* still exist today, and will soon be expanded and redeveloped.

Wow!! Great detail thanks!!!!! N
@danielgardecki10464 жыл бұрын
@@michael5089 It was one of just a few productions I found out about from the *Bradford - City of Film* team on their *Bradford Film Heritage* website. I seem to know more about my city's films, TV shows and film locations than they do, as there's loads of stuff missing from their website which I will be revealing to them eventually when I get a job and start my own blogs about *Bradford's* famous people, places and things, and a second blog dedicated to *Bradford's* films, TV shows and film locations. They only mentioned one of the locations in *Minder* on their website which was *Bradford Forster Square* railway station, which used to be bigger than it is now, but as usual there was more. Not much more however as the others were only short shots, but the point still stands. For example I've just started watching *The Last Tango in Halifax* recently, and I noticed the *Cow and Calf Rocks* on *Ilkley Moor, Ilkley, Bradford* appeared in a scene in series 1, yet *Bradford Film Heritage* only noticed it appear in series 5. I also noticed a pub I had been in as a kid or a teenager in series 4, which I also noticed appeared in one or two episodes of *The Royal,* but I didn't know what it was called until now. I thought it was somewhere near *Bingley, Bradford* next to the *Leeds and Liverpool canal* but it's actually in *Shibden, Halifax* next to the *Shibden Brook canal,* and has been voted the *Best Pub in Yorkshire* before. I can now add it to *IMDB* now I know what it's called and where it is. Talking of *The Royal,* it used at least 5 *Bradford* locations including the interiors for the hospital which were in every single one of the 87 episodes, yet *Bradford Film Heritage* only mention 2 of those 5 *Bradford* locations. I've just finished series 4 of *The Last Tango in Halifax* which consists of just a couple of Christmas episodes. However I expect as the headteacher Caroline moved to *Huddersfield* in series 4, it'll be more likely that there will be more *Bradford* locations in series 5, than just *Ilkley Moor,* so I'll be keeping my eye out when I watch the rest tonight.

The thing is about the shot at The Blue Anchor, since I were a kid I distinctly remember a point where they swapped that image for a similar one with Terry and Arthur leaning on a metal rail at the same location, from the opposite angle. I'm no expert on the show, but I've seen a fair few repeats over the years since and all evidence appears to conclude that the alternate image never existed. But then I see this up to date shot of the place, and it now looks exactly how I recall it. Really weird.
