Great Vid. my account autoplayed your epoxy application video and when I came in from workin' outside your vid was at the part where you were describing air bubbles and or the prevention of getting them in your piece of art. Helpful tip, have a small hand torch close by and once complete with your application of the liquid ep. graze/paint the torch flame over anywhere the liquid was applied and the flame will draw up/out any air bubbles. Be well and keep crafting in a positive light.

@MinderellaCreations Жыл бұрын
You could use a quick setting one and use thin coats. I would probably leave a little space around the edges to make sure the epoxy can go around it to seal it. That sounds like fun! You would probably tape it off so when they’re decorating it there’s an edge.

I do t recommend a hair dryer as it’s not enough direct heat and pushes debri around more. You can hand turn if you don’t have a rotisserie. It has to stay turning by hand until the epoxy stops moving or you’ll get bumps or drips. It’s about 2 hours hand turning.

It depends on your epoxy. Generally it should be removed after about 30-45 minutes. If you are using a fast set epoxy you can remove it after about 5 or 10. You want it to be tacky when you remove it so the epoxy doesn't shift much.

I just found your channel and love it! Quick question: why don’t you mix the epoxy in one cup? Since you measure 15mml, why not add the 2nd mixture to the first cup (to the 30mml line)? Just curious if there was some reason why that I missed in a video I haven’t watched yet. Thanks!!
@MinderellaCreations5 жыл бұрын
I do it to make sure I get exact measurements. If I were to add the other on top of the other one there is a slight chance that the first amount wasn't exactly at the line or I overpoured and then it would be hard to match it exactly. So I do two separate cups so it is exact and if I overpour the first one I can add a little more to the second.

So, how long do I let the first coat of glitter sit before apply the 2nd coat, then the 3rd? How long should we use the heat gun for as well? Can we use the same things : mod podge- hard coat and epoxy to do a mug as well?
@MinderellaCreations5 жыл бұрын
If you use epoxy you’ll need to let it cure for 3-4 hours at least. I usually wait overnight. Mod podge I usually wait about an hour or 2. Heat gun use sparingly. Just pop bubbles. I prefer the epoxy as adhesive now after I’ve become more familiar with it.

@@MinderellaCreations do you sand in between coats?
@MinderellaCreations6 жыл бұрын
@@j-leespence7140 If needed, yes.

@Raquel M If you have any uneven areas or parts of epoxy that are sticking up you would want to sand.

How do you clean the glass once resin has set. I made myself a wine glass and the resin went cloudy xx
@MinderellaCreations3 жыл бұрын
It needs to cure about 72 hours. Humidity or moisture can impact cure time. If it goes cloudy that usually means moisture has affected it. If it’s mixed with the proper measurements, for the right amount of time and cured long enough it shouldn’t go cloudy.

@@MinderellaCreations ok thank you I’ll try curing longer. Xx

hi i didn't quite hear how much epoxy you used im trying to take notes so i don't mess up. do you use the same amount of part a and part b? sorry for all the questions i just want to not make a mistake. thank you
@MinderellaCreations5 жыл бұрын
The resin you use should have instructions telling you how to mix it and the ratio. Most are 1:1 by volume, but some vary and use 2:1 or by weight.
@bevdowdy94835 жыл бұрын
@@MinderellaCreations ok thank you. I thought you gave a specific amount that you were using to coat the glitter.

bev dowdy It actually depends on my cup, but I usually mix 10-15ml each part or more.
