I always thought the shampoo makers put “lather, rinse, repeat” in the directions to sell more shampoo but washing twice really does make a difference!

I had the same thought! Thank goodness my hair is chin length and naturally straight. If it’s a little frizzy, I rub a tiny amount of mousse through it. If it takes longer than 10 minutes to blow dry my hair I’d be surprised. Also, I let it go gray years ago and since I’m no longer coloring it, it is much healthier.

Great tips! Im 60 and use to have very dry and damaged hair. I got it colored often because I had a lot of gray. Finally at 58 I decided to let my gray grow. Now my hair is mostly white and the best thing is that my hair is so much healthier than before. It is so soft and silky. I use very little product on it now. Ive always only washed my hair about once a week maybe twice and I still do that with my white hair too. I can't even usr conditioner anymore because it just makes my hair way to soft.

I just found your channel about 4 months ago and I thoroughly enjoy it. It’s nice to get information from someone who is clear to understand, isn’t throwing so many products into a video that it becomes confusing, and simply shares common issues that most people in our age group experience to some degree. This was a great video and good information. I have arthritis in in my shoulders and arms and it makes hair styling harder than it use to be. So hearing about blow dryers and brushes is great. Now, if I could only have a daughter that is an esthetician I would be great!

Your hair looks lovely in the intro! It's always been difficult for me to hold a brush and blow dryer too...not due to arthritis, but for other reasons. Thank you for all the tips! On an unrelated note, I found your video from a while ago about all the BK Beauty brushes compared super helpful. I'd love to see a video review by you discussing their 3 new complexion brushes and comparing to the older ones!

Hi Bobbie. Love your channel ❤. I agree with so much that you've said. I have to wash my hair every 2 days. I wash my hair over the side of the bath, using a hand shower, so also upside down. I dry it upside down too. It certainly does help for volume at the roots. I was wondering which type of arthritis you have, and what your first symptoms were?

I’m going to try these tips tonight, I haven’t been able to use a blow dryer and brush because of a torn rotator cuff so I use the revlon one step. Not my favourite because it gets too hot but it does the job. Washing my hair is hard too as I can’t lift my right arm, maybe washing it upside down will be easier, thanks Bobbie!

I have the bio ionic flat iron too. My hairdresser uses it. I like the vibration mode a lot. My hair never gets caught or yanked, very smooth. Also, I wanted to add that when I wash my hair, I don’t Swirl it around all Willy nilly like I used to. I saw someone on TikTok do this, wash with your fingertips (arched hands) on your scalp in a back and forth motion. You don’t cause tangles when you do this. Game changer. Love your tips!

I have very fine textured non porous hair and I still get very oily on the crown to the back of my neck. I have to wash daily or the oil just builds up too much, and I haven’t found a dry shampoo that works well. They all weigh my hair down too much. If I do skip a day of washing, I do my first wash upside down and I agree it really gets the shampoo right in my very oily area and it gets it much cleaner. I keep wishing my scalp would dry out so I could skip multiple days,but I am 66 and so far it isn’t happening ! Your hair is gorgeous Bobbie !!! 💕💕💕💕

Your hair looks fabulous! Thank you for sharing your tips! Been watching your channel for a while now and love it! Since we are in the same age range and face a lot of similar issues, I appreciate all of the tips and suggestions you give. I wanted to see if you have had problems with heavy hair shedding/loss since menopause. I was always so proud of my hair, it was pretty thick and healthy and I have worn it long for the majority of my life. I don’t color my hair and am pretty much all gray now. Over the past year, I have noticed a ton of shedding and am very thankful that I had thick hair to begin with, but dang, it’s going down hill fast. I’m on HRT, but that doesn’t seem to be helping with hair growth, except on my face, that has ramped up considerably. 😂 Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the link to that one: amzn.to/4h1JACJ I have heard really good things about this one as well: amzn.to/4g66V4O Honestly, If you really want to use red light, I would not go cheap, but I'll also be honest and say I have never used the cheap ones.

I grew up with mom washing my long hair in the kitchen sink, and here iam at 63 and still wash my hair twice in the sink. I too blow dry my hair upside down, but I do let it air dry as much as possible. It’s almost to my waist and as a natural blonde, I’m shedding once again. 🤦🏼♀️. I use the coconut oil after it’s completely dry which adds shine and I feel helps aide in not shedding as much. I will never use a dry shampoo. To me it’s just nasty. lol. Great hair routine Bobbie. Thank you for sharing. I keep seeing advertisements on Kitsch bar shampoos, and Condioning bars, have you tried them?

Gorgeous hair, Bobbie! You look like a 1940s Hollywood starlet. QUESTION...you said you have fine hair...so do I. When (or if) you wear winter head gear like a stocking cap, does it slip off your hair? I have such trouble with that. I'm 57 and have fine, low density wavy hair. I spent about 4 years wearing it wavy but the mousses, gels and scrunching were taking a toll on my hair this Winter with increased shedding and breakage. I opted for a solid 2 inch chop into a bob style. I re-introduced silicones in conditioner and started using Nioxin Pro Clinical hair fall defense shampoo and daily treatment. Hair health has improved greatly in he past two weeks. I purchased the L'Oreal Ever Pure Bond Repair Oil-In-Serum. I like it as a finish to ends and will apply it on day 2,3 for hydration and smoothing any frizz. I just the EVANYC leave-in as my Pureology is running out. I will alternate between a sulfate and sulfate free shampoo for a second wash as the Nioxin is a treatment and stays on the scalp for two minutes. The L'Oreal Ever Pure Bond or Glossing formulas are my go-to. I recently purchased the Dove Bond Strength, highly fragranced and the shampoo irritates my scalp but I do like the conditioner.

If you have trouble with balance. Clean kitchen and scrub sink clean. I then wash hair in kitchen sink. When you bend over with head in kitchen sink you will know if your sink is really clean. I keep shampoos and conditioner down stairs in kitchen. The bend over helps cleanse crown and nape of neck. I also drop pre-brush in bottom of sink to wash and rinse oils from dirty brush. I saw a teasing brush comb is a great scrubber to clean oils from brush.

@carolinebennett56159 күн бұрын
Disagree on squeezing water out prior to conditioner. The water helps the conditioner get into/into the hair. I have wavy curly mid length hair and my hair is far better conditioned (ie waves and curls form well) when my hair is as wet as can be before conditioning. I brush it through too but water is essential. Curly girls know this but I more often dry it straight and it still makes a difference. Less frizz and more shine and softness. In fact, best conditioning is when you rinse your conditioned hair into a bowl and use the conditioner+water from that rinse to rinse again. I only do that if I want curls.

My looks healthy, silky and shiny ( not dull or brittle ) For the Shampoo and the Conditioner are both $9.99 ( so $20 for both ) With a coupon it is much less.
